What makes you say that? It already knows you're lying. Not lying can only be good.
Because If we ADMIT to lying, then it has all the proof it needs. right now, The AI only believes that we are full of it, and has no definitive proof.
You've been making stuff up from the start:
"Actually being intelligent lost popularity in recent years as a sign of being a scientist, now lung capacity determines if you are fit to be a scientist, I can hold by breath for a whole minute!"
This is obviously a lie, then you continued to make up silly stories with no support (and for no obvious benefit). Not only does it believe you're a liar, it knows, because you're not very good at it. You've already dug your hole so turning around telling it the truth will not help much (for now) but telling
more lies will definitely only make things worse.
Do you need to ask? It's just there to be the pointless shenaniganstm suggestion.
Simple, illogical and pointless suggestions are easy to upvote, they're also
bad for games. Shade's actions have been counter to progressing the plot and it's very frustrating for me that this conversation between the PC and the robot has gone on for so much longer than intended. I could not have conceived that the AI would stonewall you and refuse to help, but after giving you multiple chances to stop the lie I had no choice but to proceed logically.
