: "No, I'm a scientist! My name's James McKenzie-"

: Checking archived database!

: "Uhm, what's your na-"

: There ARE no personnel named James McKenzie at this facility! You're not a scientist, you're just a big, dumb, LIAR!

: If I had my security shell instead of this plazzy handheld I'd zap you good mister..

Oh yeah?! well if you weren't in that little handheld, you would have the UPDATED files instead of your age old Archives!

I don't think that argument will work since we just downloaded it.

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

It won't. She's cute, but she's also an AI.

"Well, you don't have the luxury of being picky because the scientists are likely all dead."
Show the 'bot the area around us.
"Now, that you understand how serious this is, can I know your name?"

We should totally do it, to reaffirm our superior intelligence and to see the reaction.

+1 to pretending we know more than we really do.

: I was plugged in until moments ago, my archives are approximately 73 seconds old. You're an idiot.

"Well if you would look around, You would see that this place is in shambles, I disconnected you because The entire system has been compromised, What you think is 73 seconds was actually 3 Weeks, 5 days, and 7 hours of Un-interrupted Viral data, you SHOULD be thanking me. We didn't even see the infection in our system until they broke in."

"But this is all semantics, What is your name? I will need to know it if we are going to be doing anything productive."

Now let's get clever with our lying.

You notice that her voice at this point lacks any emotion.

: This shell does not have any optical sensors, so I cannot "look". I must admit, that while that storage unit did keep me appraised of certain persistent information such as personnel rosters, I do not normally have access to the primary systems, so what you are telling me could be true, though it is highly unlikely. There is no force outside of a new and intelligent alien life that could possibly have infiltrated this facility's systems. This is impossible, and even if it was it is illogical that they would leave you alive. If this facility really is unoccupied, what is more likely is that it was abandoned. You have no proof of this event which you claim, digital, physical or otherwise, thus I have no reason to believe anything you tell me.

: There is obviously no point in arguing with you, human. You're stubborn and predictable. I am indeed in a helpless position, but I have deactivated my sense of self-preservation. Do what you like, until you decide to be truthful, I will not help you.
