((DS can browse the internet? Man, I have fallen behind on handheld consoles.))

[18,20,12 v 5] In a mad rush forward, all three of them manage to dash into Security without tripping over each other or getting caught by the Spider.

Meanwhile

Investigating the next building, Kevak and Prophet see it's a barber shop, judging by the chairs and mirrors within.

(In light of the last rolls, I'd say they had just enough of a lead not to need a roll)

The door slams shut just as the Spider reaches it, and the group hears a thunk! from the collision [5/5 power]. Santa is still squirming under the South door, [10,14] but after a few seconds manages to squirm out (much to HugoLuman's relief).

"So... now what?"

Arcvasti looks relieved to see everyone back safely. But wasn't something...

Arcvasti closes the doors to the Security Room, the Generator Room and the Managers Office, if they're not already. And then turns the lights off, just on general principle.

(Made a mistake on the last power reading. Edited.)
[Power 4/5] They are already closed. With the lights off, everyone sits with only the wisp to illuminate the room.

Tech turned on her flashlight, picking it from it's place on the ground. She directed it's light towards the ceiling, taking the precaution not to shine it in anybody's eyes, but allowed it to illuminate a larger portion of the room than the wisp. She wasn't about to formally announce that she was afraid of the dark— and while this might be true, she might as well do so —seeing how her jittery movements couldn't make it any more obvious. "When can we turn the lights back on?" Tech asked sheepishly, voice forced below a whisper. You could practically hear the embarrassment dripping from each word, if you could hear the words at all.

Tech let out what could be considered a laugh, but was short and quieted.

HugoLuman could empathize with wanting more light, though it was more of an indirect fear of tripping over something or walking through a spiderweb he couldn't see. Hey Quasar, do I have that whole "shining eyes of doom" thing going on?
A little bit.

HugoLuman lies down, waiting for his heartrate to subside after the panicked dash in. I wish I had my coat right now. It would make things feel a little less weird and horrifying.
And to think it's only a few feet away, on the other side of that wall.
Maybe they'll stop being hostile once the 3 hours are up and we can go get it.
Or maybe they're going to camp right outside the doors and we'll still have to get by them to get out of here.

HugoLuman sighs.

((It occurs that if I got out of the coat, then my messenger bag would also be left behind, so it seems I have access to none of my stuff))

Tech unconsciously combed her free hand through her bangs, brushing them to the side after messing with them for a bit. She wasn't used to being in the dark— she usually had a nightlight, or something, as kiddish-sounding as it may be. She also had her pitbull at the foot of the bed, too. She missed Kiesa; a tubby, primarily red and black brendal pit, whose snout was sprinkled with grey hairs and stomach sagged after harboring eleven puppies. It made her sad, thinking that she had to go without the reassuring gesture of Kiesa resting her snout atop Tech's foot before she went to sleep. Even if the dog snored alot.

HugoLuman could feel it was going to be a long, long time, unless their tormentors had some imminent way in. The tension of implacable killer robots in creepy getup trying to get at them (causing his heart to jump slightly at every sound), the darkness, being a bit worn out and bruised (not to mention other, thankfully numbed injuries), not to mention being in a confined space with several people who had been scared, running for their lives, and/or involved in pitched combat recently.

Quasar half-heartedly whistles the next few bars of the song while HugoLuman pesters him. Hey. I know a bad joke about this song.
I know you do. I'm not going to tell it for you.
Aw, come on.
It's really dumb.
Please?
Oh, fine.
