"Sounds like someone should investigate it."
Kyle kind of pops himself off the wall with his back.
"And I've been looking to lose some weight anyways. So, anything else you can tell me about it?"

"Well, he survived, pretty much unharmed. Think he's staying at an inn near the gate. No word on your other friends, though. They told me they were off on an errand and would be back in an hour or so. It's been a bit longer than that, though. Say, would you like to come to the service with me?"

Kyle raises an eyebrow. She obviously has his attention.

The wisp floats over to the cable and presses against it. (20) The wisp glows brightly and heats up then burns straight through the cable.

"Service?"
Kyle raises an eyebrow. She obviously has his attention.

"Yes, tomorrow's a big day, so we've got to prepare. We've got our places of worship over in this part of town, most of them quite near each other. There's a church, serving all denominations, a little Buddhist temple, a mosque, and I think a few others. Nothing grand, but we make due. There's also at least one homegrown cult around here, but they mostly meet out in the woods. Not very public types. Are you religious?"

Kyle shrugs.
"Never really tried believing. But then, I can't shake the feeling there might be something bigger, ya know?"

"Some of us around here take this whole place as proof of that. But we're glad we can still make our little spaces to practice in."

"So, what do you believe?"

"Well, I was raised methodist. But since I left my parents, I haven't really felt tied to a denomination. Just sort of tried to keep God in my mind as I lived my life. Then I wound up here, and I've been relying on that a lot more."

"I was Lutheran. Course, my mom and dad were into paganism so I know how to do that stuff. Also I can do tarot readings if I had the cards. ... I really like doing things involving higher powers. Except math."
