Omeganaut looks up, somewhat startled by the door and the sound of voices.  "What?  I'm Omeganaut, I'm new to whatever this is, this wrist thingy isn't letting me be a spell-slinger, and I'd need some time to figure out that square root."

(Also interesting to note, the current positions of everyone is roughly analogous to an end of act state.  Seriously:

Group A - Preparing to Raid the ship
Group Alpha - Waiting for the time they are in there to end
Kj - Resting
Propman - Resting
Me - About to enter an unknown area

If group 1 sets up a campsite, and Blitz and Omega go through a portal, we would be at a narrative 'end of act'.

Although...if I make a few mega-posts about what I'm did, so I could reach the town, then meet up with Blitz and Omega, then go to the Cathedral and meet up with KJ...that seems like it would be a bit more fitting of a note.)

(Because I am going through and analyzing archetypes and narrative structure, why not make a story arc post?  The current ones seem to be,  truth of the game, the mob boss', the cultists, the timetravel stuff, Maurice the bandit.

Group 1 seems to have the timetravel and truth stuff around them the most.  So maybe Group 1's 'story mode' would be them trying to exploit the game in order to find out the truths about it, such as how it runs, how to summon the administrators, etc.?

Group A only has the 'Spiders vs Marines' stuff going on, but theirs is just starting to develop, so more could come along.

Group Alpha hasn't developed anything yet.  Though if it mixes with Group A after the challenge, that point becomes moot.  Wait, Lilium was lost, wasn't she?  So are the marines...  Maybe if A and Alpha combine, they could have their deal with the darker side of the human condition, and how it would respond to being in the situation, basically losing themselves but pulling out of that?

If a group is formed with me, blitz, omega, propman, and Kj, then the mob boss and cultist ones would get our focus to being around the town, which could have us add in Maurice stuff.  Maybe ours would be fixing the town into a better state?

After these would be done, all of us would come out stronger, and when we meet up again, the final act (who knows the number) could be the final battles, of us taking our strength gained over the course and making the final push to escape?)

(Both of these are how your characters view it in the current time.  Might change later on, or you might take the challenge to get some power you got tiny, ambiguous hints of over the course of your adventures.)

-snip-

(I dunno if we're getting out that quickly. We've barely hit the second floor yet, and I have plans for a "hacker" arc. Keep in mind only a single day has passed, after all!)

(TBH if we're going by "acts" as in "three-act structure", this still feels like the first. Helluva lot of exposition, characters still getting used to the world, and it being the first freaking day.)

Feeling it might be safe to show himself at this point, as this Omeganaut had not yet selected a class, and Arc was there, HugoLuman entered the spawn room.

Lilium awkwardly trundled along on her slipper-clad feet, her wings tucked under the blanket-poncho so as to keep them warm. Disparagingly, Felix was not in sight, nor was the supposed penguins. In truth, she disliked winter; it was cold, hostile to life, and it stripped the leaves off of trees. Perhaps the best thing about the season in her mind, was the fact that it led to spring. It's been a long time since she's last seen spring.

Omeganaut calms down a bit when the newcomer turns out to be only wary, not hostile.  "Hello.  I don't recall any gas mask, and I literally just got here.  I knew I shouldn't been messing in the raws untrained...  Oh,  My friend here hasn't yet told me her name, but she said she was a faker before, and is back for round 2 or something like that.  By the way, I'm trying to figure out if this class selector dohicky has a magic-missile slinging option.  I have no idea how it works... Wait a second.  Alright, lets search this class library for what we got....  "

HugoLuman waves at the newcomers.

Snowglobe

Not long after moving, the outline of a penguin becomes visible in the snowstorm ahead; it looks huge, nearly six feet tall. It calls out, receiving an answering call from somewhere further beyond, not seeming to have noticed Caroline and Lilium yet.

(Whelp, this burns the whole idea of how the group dynamics could have worked.)

The penguin seems to be trying to find its way back to the others.
