HugoLuman cleaned 3 plates in short order, not really caring what he ate. Just so long as it shut up the wolf brain. He figured he'd change back again within a couple hours, like last time, so he guessed no permanent damage could be done if he ate the wrong thing.

The ramshackle wooden door that the pumpkin had left behind caught his attention. Walking over, nothing felt particularly dangerous about it. Of course, he'd probably need SB's help to open it, but... No, this was selfish. Going on without the group, when the gains of the room could be distributed to all of them. Not to mention while they were here getting food, and Arc and Kevak were getting a ladder, Zanz was probably still lying comatose back in the room where not 5 minutes ago about 2 dozen more cultists had appeared.

[SOLDIER First]

"Don't open the door, dude. There's still so much food left and whatever's in the next room might ruin your appetite or something."
A pause.
"Also there's everyone else to think about, but..."

Eventually, enough chairs had been broken, Kevak begins to gather up the chair legs. Now all that's left is to make the ladder.

Pumpkin Room

HugoLuman looked back at SB, then to the gate. Oh, what the hell. He jumped up, pushing on the crooked boards. It didn't seem like it would respond for a second, but then, after a clank!, the gate swung slowly open.

Beyond was pitch darkness, at least at first. Then, a light snapped on, and the room was blindingly white. It was a bit smaller than most of the other rooms they'd seen so far, about the size of a good-sized living room, and its dimensions seemed almost a perfect cube. In the center stood an inhumanly tall and slim figure with magenta skin, dressed in dark grey. Upon seeing HugoLuman and SB, it cracked a wide smile. "Congratulations. You each get one wish. I take it the rest of your group shall be joining us shortly?"

So~ Shall we go back to the cultist room and build a ladder~?

[SOLDIER First]

"Probably.
What's the catch, though? Do you twist wishes around to end horribly? Or are we unwittingly selling you our souls for the wish? Or is this bullshit, perhaps, and you just want all of us together to sell into slavery?"

[WillowLuman]

The figure grins wider. "Why don't you find out?"

[SOLDIER First]

"Why don't you stop smiling like that.
I mean, by all means keep smiling, but you look like you're going to start munching on my intestines or something. Tone down the intimidation a couple hundred notches, will you?"

[WillowLuman]

It chuckles. "Nothing's going to happen. Until you make a wish. But if you don't want to wish, you could turn around. Leave. I can understand if you're a coward."

[SOLDIER First]

"There's a difference between being a wuss and knowing when something's up."

[WillowLuman]

HugoLuman looked up at he figure. He wasn't getting any sense of imminent danger from it, but he didn't like the look of the magenta being. "How about you? Anything you want to wish for? I'm sure I can think of a way for you to tell me." The grin rose to unnatural girth again. HugoLuman shook his head. "Well, looks like you're not going any further. Unless someone in your group wants to go first. Better go fetch them."

[SOLDIER First]

"Okay, fine. I wish I knew how to leave this place-- AND, and, to return to the normal world. One whole wish. I know you could have fun with just 'leave'."

[WillowLuman]

"Why, it's simple. All you need to do is obtain what's necessary for your ritual, summon your designated administrator, defeat them, and you're free to go!" The grin reaches almost to its ears. "Of course, you already knew that, didn't you?"
