@snow dwarf Too big or too small would be relative to your monitor size, native resolution of said monitor, window size and/or personal aesthetic. Which game mode you are using won't affect any of those things.

Weeellllll, in adventurer mode having a tile size that fills the screen with your visible surroundings is nice, 24x24 (or even 24x36) is great there, but in fort mode being able to see more of your fort at once has it's own appeal.

You'd need to add "at a stake" I suspect, though I think they're on a 1366x768 screen or using a 1920x1080 and just prefer it a bit more zoomed out.

As for 1366x768 users . . .

Any 12 pixel set was not designed for 1366x768, and a 24 set is out of the question.

I prepped the release months before 44.01, so that helped. Heh.

Holiday family visits have hindered the last couple days, but the 44.01 set works fine with the recent 44.02 release and should work with any further 44.xx versions barring any updates that effect the standard vanilla method of applying creature tiles or if you use the optional raws and there is some update that changes that end. However, there are a few things I want to add/change regardless, so another update is forthcoming when I find the opportunity.

**  Removed more noble colors from many professions (Thief, Master Thief, Merchant Prince, Merchant Baron, Guild Rep,
     Administrator, Trader, Clerk, Manager, Bookkeeper, Broker, Forced Administrator, Tax Collector) to better match the Artifact release professions.
**  ReAdded Monster Slayer, Beast Hunter, Scout, and Mercenary with new look.
**  Added Snatcher
**  Note: Criminal and Mercenary don't seem to work. Meh.


Some of the professions mentioned aren't used, but most can be used as identities. I'm not sure why the Criminal and Mercenary won't work even as scout types.

Anyway, here is a preview of the new Beast Hunters and Monster Slayers:

The snapshot has also been updated in the OP with all the new changes.

Hey burned,

Have you thought about replacing uppercase X and Z letters with a bit more readable form? I was playing the adventure mode lately where you do sort of have to read a lot more text than in fortress mode and found those two letters quite annoying. Or maybe have a separate install option with normal X/Z letters?

I might try and mod them myself in, although not sure I can easily match your style with my rusty ms paint skills.

You can download the above character tilesets from this post, but I've also included them in the set download itself for anyone else to use in the future. The default will still be the Mkv_Anikki_cp437font_bfx_xx.png version, but you and others can change it to Mkv_Anikki_cp437font_bfx_xx_simast.png in the init.txt settings.

Hope that helps.

**  Added Mkv_Anikki_cp437font_bfx_12_simast.png and Mkv_Anikki_cp437font_bfx_24_simast.png as an optional character tileset.
    Specifically it replaces the X and Z with characters from code page 437

**  Updated Peasant for Dwarf, Human, Elf, Goblin and Kobold civs
**  Updated Animal Caretaker and Herbalist for Dwarf, Human, Elf and Goblin civs to match companion tileset
**  Updated Thresher for Dwarf, Human, Elf and Goblin civs
**  Removed Herbalist from Kobold civ - why did I even make this?
**  Created a temporary workaround for Criminal and Mercenary tiles not displaying.
**  Note: I've changed the default texture token, so both Criminal and Mercenary will share the same tile.
     This is a temporary solution, but better than displaying the designed default civ until I can troubleshoot this further.   



The snapshot has also been updated in the OP.
