Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

well unless you're getting bullied by dudes who take karate all it takes is a few stern punches.
or a textbook, seeing as this appears to be at school.
or a knife, if you happen to be walking around.

I do t anymore but if I ever get in a fight I have no idea what I would do

Now onto the true purpose of this thread
What is everyone's personal opinion on fighting styles, Western or Eastern or maybe a mix of both or something that doesn't fall into either category like dirty fighting

No such thing as fighting dirty. There's only fighting to stay alive. If you're not in real danger, you're not in a fight, and if you're in danger, you're not in any position to be picky about what openings you use.

Or one stick. Or in some cases, no sticks. But yes.

Yep, what a lot of martial arts basically teach you is that the biggest thing if you are in a conflict is to disable the opponent then... walk away... OR to just run away.

And by disable? Like break their arm or leg.

More like just knock them down. That gives you plenty of time to escape.

Psh, next thing you will tell me is that there are martial arts out there dedicated to ways to disable an opponent without harming them.
