John goes through the process, watching to see how everyone else takes it.
Be inconspicuous.
Don't cause any trouble.
Don't do anything...yet.
[2 + 2] vs [3-1] The guards search all of you, leaving Jim last. When the man in uniform pats him down, he suddenly whips his baton and puts Jim on the ground.

"Control, need backup in Arrivals, we got a guy armed with a shank."
His pals run in from the security door  with guns pulled out and drag poor Jimmy into a corridor. You can still hear him go "What the hell!? I didn't have -oof!"
You think that your pal is currently being beat to crap, and you can't do anything about it. You are searched yet again, even more rigorously, and are assigned temporary beds in the Holding Cell. They told you time, it is 1550, work time but you aren't going to work, because you weren't trained, or even assigned stations, so you have some free time in your shared cell. You are currently the only people here, along with those two idiots that were fighting. There is nothing in this room except bunk beds, some benches, shelves with books on them, and a few ancient looking TV's. There is also a phone booth in the corner, if any of you want to call your family.

"Hey y'all, let me take the phone for a minute.

Go the phone, call family, make sure momma's alright, assure her I'll be fine. Call girlfriend and do the same.

No minions, or any convincing people for backup. Everything else is more or less fair game.

"Hey y'all, let me take the phone for a minute.
Go the phone, call family, make sure momma's alright, assure her I'll be fine. Call girlfriend and do the same.
[3]You walk over to the booth and type in the number of your home. It seems that there is no one home, or maybe no one picked up your call  You try calling your girlfriend, but luckily, she answers.
"Hello? Who's there?"
"Hey baby, it's me."
The second she hears your voice, her voice crackles. You assure her of your safety, and told her that you two will see each other in no time. She replied by reminding you that she will visit you regularly, and from what you picked up, you recall that your first visit can be appointed tomorrow, in the free time period. You tell her to come to visit you tomorrow, and to send a message to your mom. Unfortunately, one of the dumb mooks stood up, and demanded you "stopped talking to that dumb bitch and gave him the phone".

John nods at MC, and inspects the room more closely, looking for anything useful.
[1] You look around, hoping to find anything particularly interesting. You find out that you should better not mess with the beds, because those are rickety at best and will break if it would have to endure even a bit more weight than yours.

Read the heaviest book on the shelf.
The heaviest book on the shelf happened to be the King James Bible and you open it on a random page. The sentence you lay your eyes on first is
"And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him."
It doesn't exactly fill you with joy.

Hubert examines the bookshelf.
On the bookshelf you find two copies of King James Bible, one of which was picked up by the nerdy guy, some cheap romance, spy, mystery and other horrible novels. There is also a copy of Stephen King's "The Stand", "It", Frank Herbert's "Dune" and some book of poetry written in what looks like Cyrillic script.

Pretend to read the books, but actually look for things hidden in them.

Say bye and hand the phone over to the guy, don't say anything but glare at him real hard.

MC thinks to himself, I won't do anything now, but once I gather the squad in here I'll destroy this ugly motherfucker. You gotta' find a way to let people know you mean business in the Pen, and what better way than to beat down on the dumbass talking shit about your girl?

He sits down, and looks at the guy reading the Bible. "Hey homes, you a religious man?"

John hears the conversation behind him, and chuckles. He butts in, despite it probably being a bad idea.

"Religion is the tool of the clever and the death of the wise. I try to stay away from those kinds of things."

MC swivels his head towards John's position, "...eh? Who are you?"
