Roll to Be Locked Up! - A prisoner RtD!
« on: September 06, 2014, 06:53:32 am »

Before coming here, you may have lived any sort of life. A multimilionnaire tax evader, a psychopatic murderer or the Average Joe type of gig. But then you committed a crime and got sentenced for time in prison. Normally, you would go to a standard prison, but your luck ran out and you got sent to the "The Black Falcon Correctional Facility", a private prison with strict rules and experienced staff willing to reeducate prisoners. But you definetely are not going to stay in this place until you die, or even worse, be released when you are barely alive, ridden with disease. You WILL find a way to get out of here, or you will die trying.

This is a RtD based about escaping a harsh prison in any way possible. I will be using a d6 with no overshoot. The game is set in an American prison, in the nineties, placed in one of the hotter states. It was inspired by TCM's Syndicate, The Escapists and Prison Architect.

Gang information:
Yakuza - All types of Asian gang members are usually just associated with the Yakuza, the crime organisation from Japan. They usually aren't aggresive towards other gangs, but lately they seem to begun a war with the Galante Family. Their boss goes by the name Mr. Tong. They use shanks and other improvised weaponry, and some members know various martial arts. They usually deal with smuggling alcohol and marijuana inside, as well as extortion. They mostly live and deal in Cellblock B and the Yard.

Membership:
Around 120.

Galante Family - An italian mafia, having control over the major areas of the prison, dealing mostly in smuggling smokes and marijuana. They usually sport shanks and the high ranking gangsters may even have firearms or proper knives and other weapons. Recently, tensions between Yakuza and the Galante Family started a major gang war between these two factions. The leader is Frank Galante, with his sons Leon and Sergio, all of which are convicted and ruling their part of the prison from inside. They are on good terms with the guards, due to the big bribes given to the higher ranking officers.  They own Cellblock C and D.

Membership:
Around 95.

The Bruisers - The sheer, brute force of the gangs. They work as the tough guys, getting most of their profits from extortions and bribes. They are one of the major consumers of the smuggled drugs, and have good relationships with anyone who sells them coke, marijuana and such. They rely on brute force and deal the threats directly - through murders and beatings. They don't have many weapons, but they sometimes use improvised clubs. They recently got some heat from the guards because of some murder.

Membership:
Around 70.

Queens - The stereotypical gang of homosexuals come to life, smuggling cocaine and selling weaponry to the prisoners. They don't have an organised structure, but they are ruled by their Council. These are usually neutral towards other groups, but have a hard time from the guards. They are pretty  standard when it comes to weaponry - shanks and such. It is common knowledge that they have some sort of courier delivering equipment to them through the fences. They have control over Cellblock A.

Membership:
Around 60.

The Aztec Raiders - The independent gang that recently came to power in the prison. Their methods are ruthless and straightforward, and their sour relations with other gangs are the proof of that. They have a lot of respect from all prisoners and guards, because of their clever ways to acquire power and money. They mostly smuggle the "tough" drugs along some of the weaker stuff. The Aztecis are led by Manuel Espinoza. They use shanks and knives, but won't mind fighting using their fists or martial arts.

Membership:
Around 100.

New Reich - The racist organisation keen on "purifying"  the prison from "undesirables", and by that they mean people of other races or sexualities. They are pretty poor compared to other gangs, but that is mostly due to low income from their smuggling operations. Their relations with other gangs are horrible at best, but they have a good connection with The Bruisers. They are cruel, using any weapon to kill or maim their enemies. They occupy the Cellblock E and control most of the facilities like the Laundry. They are led by Rob Smith, one of the local hick meth dealers that managed to get some cash.

Membership:
Around 100.

Bobbies - The organisation uniting all of the rejects into a gang of little power or influence, but one that managed to, through bribes threats and plans, smuggle colossal amounts of alcohol inside. Their network is small, but efficient. They are led by an unknown person, called the Caesar, pronounced "see-zar". They don't rule over any turf, but managed to stick most of it's members undercover to avoid gang wars. They are neutral towards others, but have a somewhat worsened relationship with the guards.

Members:
Unknown.

Other Gangs: Even though the gangs listed above are the most powerful and influential, there are other gangs roaming and fighting for power in the Black Falcon Correctional Facility, maybe even one of you would be able to recruit some of your pals and start your own squad?

Membership:
Over 1500 members.

Actually, TCM, as soon as you make your sheet, we'll start the game, due to the low popularity of this.

If that's what you wish. I do believe that more players will come in if they like what they see.

Welp, spoke too soon. My tiny little heart cries in ecstasy. Now that we have enough players, I think I will start the game soon.

You are on a prison bus being driven to the prison. As you look at your fellow prisoners, you see a standard bunch, made out of both hardened recidivists and regretful criminals, but right now, it didn't matter. Everyone would be the same, equal piece of shit under the boot of Warden Thomas Charles Mortimer, the owner and ruler of the prison. Every one of you is currently sitting on a seat placed in two rows, you all being chained together and forced to look through the reinforced glass windows looking at people that are free. But no matter, you will be free as a bird soon anyway. Your thoughts are interrupted by some other prisoner demanding someone to get him something to drink.

"Come on, I'm getting dehydrated over here! I'll sue your ass for this, get me something to drink!"
"Shut the fuck up, [REDACTEDFORREASONSUNKNOWN], you are annoying as hell."
"Do you know who you're talkin' to!? I'll fucking..."
"I'm talking to a complete goddamn moron, and you won't do shit, you dumb dickhead.
It seems like these two won't just shut up, and listening to this stuff is unbearable.

((Aaand... we're off! I'm sorry for all the in-character racism, but can I do when I try to make something realistic?))

Markus leans back into his seat, "Shut up man. We're all thirsty, so stop bitching." He looks around at the variety of convicts on the bus, getting the sense that he's going in with everyone from murderers and pimps to suburban kids who got posted for pirating too many video games and pornos. He wonders if anyone from his hood is coming along as well.

Quickly flash the gang sign to the fellow convicts, see if I have any allies on here with me.

((Excellent. The scheduling and set-up of the gangs and premises remind me of another RTD I once saw. If only I could recall which game...;P

Also, Toady doesn't come around the RTD Boards much, and I definitely understand wanting to make the prison talk in-game mimicking how it is in reality, but the Mods have made it clear that they the N-word is not accessible on the Forums. [Not that I necessarily agree with this ruling, but it is Toady's word and I have gotten in hot water for it.] I think you could get away with N***a or N---a, but perhaps you should get that checked with a Mod beforehand. Just looking out for you, don't want to see any more good forumgoers slapped with Mutes and Bans.))

John looks around the bus, seeing the prisoners already dividing themselves into factions. He looks around the bus, trying to figure out who'll need what, and what they would pay for it.

Hubert looks around the room, trying to figure out which one of these convicts will be the villain of this arc.
Well... let's see...
Examine the convicts.

((Not sure which legal system we're using right now, though. There is one, in Sweden I think, that doesn't have a punishment higher than 25 years.))
