New Undead?
« on: September 03, 2014, 10:02:50 pm »

I remember hearing that Toady wished to implement a new type of undead that arise from brutal executions and mass murder. After commuting both, I was surrounding by an army of the undead, in a perfect square, comprised of roughly the number of people I killed. Why has the Great Toad forsaken me?

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a screenshot, but I did some digging and it looks like it was a coincidence. I was near the vicinity of a Necromancer tower, and I may have walked into a group of undead that were traveling. The only wierd thing was that there was no Necromancer, unless he was sneaking. Basically, the game just stopped me when I was traveling, said "You feel uneasy, and I was surrounded. If you check on the Dwarf Fortress wiki under Night Creatures, the type of undead that arises from situations above are a planned feature. I've also noticed random undead in Fort Mode (nowhere near a tower), so it could be a bug.

It's not a bug or that planned feature. You just ran into an unrelated wandering undead siege.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I do think that it would be cool if he had snuck in that feature, but probably not.

These sieges are awesome! But... you can just sprint in one side, jump by undeads and run away... Or be hitted in air, smack your head in stone and join to army!
