[12+11] Dereth's blade pierces something vital, you think, and Borus appears a little faint.[4+3+4]
[16+9+1] Borus [3+3+1]
Ganron and Paul have no standing in this fight yet.
Turn 7 starts
Dereth is affected by Borus being a Bulwark of Defense.

”I don't think you quite understand how de Monterfort's measure honor. If my second defeats you and your second it is your honor which has failed. Any man can make mistakes in battle. The sun's rays might harm your eyes. The opponent might be better fed. The trick is having the foresight," Borus took a large swing which badly hurt Dereth "and intelligence to pick a second who can better support you. I might fall but my second's honor is my honor."

"I don't think you quite understand," Dereth quips back, this time grimacing through a side wound.

"I'm not a deMonterfort."

I'm a tuCansari."

And in a blinding flash of speed, Dereth strikes. If this blow did not take down the man, the fight was already lost.

Dereth tuCansari did not lose.

Steely Strike.

[19+11+4[16+11+4]] Dereth's blade pierces something vital sending Borus to the ground. color=red][1+1+1+1+4+4][/color]
Borus is dying
Borus loses 2 Knights challenges.
Ganron has no part in this fight yet.
Paul issues a Fighting Challenge to Dereth.
[3+9+1] Paul strides forward and lightly taps Dereth with the flat of his blade.
[94] Borus stabilizes and is no longer dying.
Turn 8 starts
Dereth is affected by Paul being a Bulwark of Defense.

Borus took several seconds to examine the rapier sticking out from his chest.

”Hm… That’s not good is it?” and with that the large man collapsed to the ground.

”Well I suppose that’s handled. Why did you have to win? Now I have to get stabbed…”

The duelist tests Paul's defenses with a few quick thrusts, not trying to wound him badly yet.

"My apologies for getting you dragged into this. It was not my intent. Please, yield; I have no desire to continue this fight; should I fall by virtue of my prevailing wounds, I have no wish for Ganron to be injured needlessly."

Dereth glances to the boy, before returning his attention to the fight, speaking loudly enough to ensure his own 'squire' could hear.

"Ganron! Should I fall, yield to them! This fight is not worth your life, and you are not yet ready."

Dereth enters the Blood in the Water stance.
[20! [20!]] Dereth strikes Paul in a vital location and is invigorated! [6+6+4+4]
[19+11+1 [7+11+1-2]] A quick withdraw and thrust nearly downs Paul. [6+4+1]
Ganron has no part in this fight yet.
[1!] Paul’s lackluster swing does very little against the agile Dereth.
Paul initiates a Shield Defense against Dereth.
Turn 8 starts
Dereth is affected by Paul being a Bulwark of Defense.

”I wish I could but it would be an affront to both Sir Borus and myself to simply throw the fight. As for your squire don’t worry about it. He’s obviously green I won’t hurt him too bad. Smack him around a bit with the flat of the blade I think. Give him a taste of combat. You can’t protect them forever I’m afraid.”

In the brief second he said this Paul felt two small pricks to his torso. Looking down he saw blood flowing freely.

”Ow… Be careful.”

Even Dereth appears somewhat surprised by the amount of damage he just dealt, mostly because he hadn't intended to do that much.

"Sorry about that," he says, somewhat confused. "Though it appears he won't be getting a taste of combat after all. And sorry about this, too."

And then he kicked Paul in the stomach. Or tried to, at any rate.

Wolf Fang Strike; the unarmed strike will be non-lethal. It will also be the first of the two attacks if it means that should I 'knock him out'(raise his Non-lethal damage above his HP) that it would count as reducing my foe to -1 HP for the purposes of Wolf Fang Strike. Otherwise it'll be the second.
If he's not down yet, five-foot step to L7

[2+10+1-2] Dereth once again only hurts himself trying to strike a half-giant.
[16+11+1] Dereth barely avoids a vital artery. [5+4+1]
Paul is dying
Ganron gains 3375xp
Dereth gains 2812xp
Zoe and Statia gain 1687xp
The rest of the party gains 1406xp

”Agh! I don’t know how you’ve trained Dereth of the Black Edge but it’s certainly not something I can keep up with. But I must try.” Paul says in a raspy tone as he steps forward in an attempt to slash Dereth. Immediately after doing so he collapses to the dirt next to Borus.

"You fought well. Both of you. Now...who has medical expertise among us here? I'm afraid I don't feel incredibly well either, and it would be remiss of us to let these two die simply for lack of a healer."

Dereth examines his split knuckles and side wound as he says this before coming to one knee and trying to keep Paul from dying. He only had the barest of first aid knowledge that he could remember at the moment, but nonetheless., he could at least staunch the bleeding.

"I am a cleric Mo'. I can do it here in a second. I assume ya don't want that big bearded lout back on his feet." Statia says as she strides forward to place her hand on Paul. [2+2] A brief grey glow resonates from her hand as Paul slowly wakes from his dying state. While he is doing so Statia steps towards Boris and does the same with a much lesser glow. [1] "The big lout'll be fine now Mo'. He just has to heal himself over time. Now for you slim."

Placing her hand on Dereth [2+2] [1] [1] the glow returned three times. The first was strong, the latter two were weak. "I'm afraid that's all I can do Mo'." Statia shrugged.

"Well that was exciting but we've kept you here long enough. It's a shame you escaped our grasp again Lady Joanna. I hope your father agrees with you and doesn't send us out again. After seeing your friend here I wouldn't like to see what his friends can do. Farewell Lady Joanna. Farewell Dereth of the Black Edge. Farewell... Well I didn't catch your names but please look after Milady."

The lady clapped politely.
"Well, done, my darling. It would have been rather awkward if you'd lost."
Focus on the postive energy swirling around. Burn it like fuel, knitting flesh together, repairing organs.

"For you, my noble protector of my honour." She offered a smile.
Cure moderate wounds on Dereth.

"As for you, Borus... your wounds are non-fatal, if treated with care. I'm sure you can hire some kind of healer to make sure, though. It'd be best not to move around to much."
She stepped back.
"You may be my knights someday. Do try not to die."

[1+4+5] Dereth's wounds seem to heal very quickly under your magical attention.

Borus, meanwhile, only lays there unconcious. You are not sure if he heard you but stranger things have happened.

"We'll do our best Milady."
