[12+11-2] Dereth’s first blow barely affects the hulking knight. [1+4]
[6+11-2] The second clangs off of Borus’ shield.
[17+9+1] Borus steps toward Dereth and [1+4+3+1]
Ganron and Paul take no part in the duel yet.
Turn 3 has begun

”Oh you’re faster than you look. I’ll give you that. That must come in handy when you’re running away from fights, because I barely even felt that. How many more hits can you take little man? Four? Five? I can do this all day. Can you?”

Bill idly scans the ranks of the opposing team for any signs of magic use.

"You might be surprised what can be achieved with just a single blow."

Dereth follows this statement with a punch to the face.

Wolf Fang Strike (rapier+unarmed strike)
Five foot step west.
Ready action to Sudden Leap north when he tries to attack me.
(Mobility gives me +4 to AC against AoO, so. Ya know. Tumble and all, but if it doesn't work I should be okay.)(Also, if that's allowed. Readying an action technically takes a standard action, I know, but Sudden Leap is a swift action normally, so I figure a move action should be enough).

Dereth makes a Wolf Fang Strike!
[3+11-2] Dereth’s rapier bounces off of Borus’ armor.
[11+9-2] Dereth’s punch catches Borus in the forehead but does little more than bruise Dereth’s hand.
Borus activates his Shield Defense against Dereth.
Borus moves to attack Dereth.
   [Jump: 12+7] Dereth jumps north.
[Tumble: 11+11] Dereth barely avoids an attack of opportunity.
[4+9+1] Borus tries to strike Dereth but fails.
Ganron and Paul have no part in this fight yet…
Turn 3 begins
Dereth is affected by Borus being a Bulwark of Defense.

”Hahaha! Was THAT your best punch? I’ve been hit harder by the wind! Fighting men might not be your thing ‘Dereth of the Black Blade’.”

Raii mutters a retort, angrily.
"Past experience tells me you are no more a man than I am... I'm sure he's well equipped for it, if you were a man..."

He thinks of shouting some more advice, but pauses to think some more. What does he know of Borus's weak points from past meetings?

"Perhaps you're right. I've been going about this in the wrong way. I apologize."

Dereth's feet shift into a familiar stance, one of the first he'd learned; extremely aggressive, it emphasized hitting the enemy as hard as possible over trying to avoid their attacks.

"Now let us fight like men."

And the swordsman strikes in a blur, cutting past the half-giant's defenses with ease, as his blade flashes in the light.

Punishing Stance.
Emerald Razor.
Five foot step southwest

Dereth enters a Punishing Stance.
[15+11] Dereth performs the Emerald Razor piercing a weak spot in Borus’ armor. [6+6+4]
   Dereth moves away from Borus.
[6+9+1] Borus manages to swing a second too early and misses Dereth as he steps forward.

”Ow! That wasn’t bad. Let’s see you do it again!” Borus smiles as he advances on Dereth, seemingly ignoring the blood dripping from the puncture.

"As you wish."

This time, Dereth strike is slower, less assured, seeming to require more focus. It is, nonetheless, overwhelmingly aggressive, as Dereth steps under Borus' guard, aiming to use the Half-Giant's own reach against him.

Steely Strike(the penalties are that enemies not the guy I attacked gain +4 to hit me for a round)
Five foot step to L5 if allowed, none if not.

In response to Raii, the Lady tutted. "I'd prefer you not to eat my knights, thank you. I intend for them to be mine, one day, so I'd prefer them relatively undamaged."

[6+11+4] Dereth performs a Steely Strike [3+4+4]
Borus prevents Dereth from taking a 5-foot step. (Bulwark)
[8+9+1] Borus fails to hit Dereth.
Ganron and Paul have no place in this fight yet.
Turn 5 Starts
Dereth is affected by Borus being a Bulwark of Defense.

”You know something? I’m starting to get angry.” Despite his words Borus seems calmer than you’ve seen him yet.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot these aren't just your mother's hired thugs..." Raii muses. "Dereth is doing quite well with his sword. I bet he'd be quite the sparring partner, if he'd let me give it a try."

"You were the one claiming this would be over quickly, were you not? And that you could do this all day? Perhaps next time, thought before you speak would be advised."

A dramatic flourish followed by a more typical blow punctuated his sentence, though it was little more than a jab to keep the knight's attention, as Dereth stepped back and away.

Recover maneuvers, Warblade style. Melee Attack!

Five foot step west.
(and until Paul comes in, Dodge will always be on Borus.)

”I did. It would seem I underestimated you. I’m done with that now though. Even if I don’t Paul will.”

”Could you please not include me in your taunts?”

Borus seemed to ignore the fight for a few milliseconds to glance at Paul.

”Don’t ruin the banter Paul.”

"That would certainly be more interesting than this. But then, considering I will still have been able to beat you, it will be little salve to your honor."

Somehow, the continued self-assurance of the duelist was even more annoying when one considered the fact that he blood was dripping down his face from where the half-giant's shield had nicked him, and his left hand knuckles appearing rather mangled and bloody from the ill-advised face-punching attempt.

"I believe, however, that it is time to finish this half of the fight."
