The Lady Joanna studied the parchment. Her grin faded.
"I sincerely doubt it would be an easy as that, hmm? I will help you kill this elf, but I will not be doing it alone, my dear. After all, I don't know when some mercenaries might drop in for tea. Tit for tat, as they say."

She smiled gently at the undead before taking a sip of her tea.

"We can cover you while you deal with the elf. We will be accompanying you, of course; we want to be sure that you finish the task."

Raii claps his hands and smiles.
"So we're in agreement, for now. You can help protect the Lady, and she in turn will lend a hand in your revenge. Or three, hee hee. She does, after all, know a thing or two about removing a hand.
"Last time I tried to do that I wound up dissolving the guy..."
he mumbles.

Dereth's eyes narrow, and he glances casually at Bill, but after a moment, he just shrugs and relaxes again. If he could ever truly be said to relax.

He'd have to talk to Bill later about this, though...

"Why, I do think we have an agreement, then. Splendid."

"So, do you have a plan? Or indeed, knowledge of this elf's location?"

"I have a plan. It is to watch you demonstrate your skill."

Raii pipes up.
"I do believe that you had said she was in the city. Somewhere. And that to search for her you were suggesting pairs. Now there's a sixth person so that's three pairs. Easy. We stick to that plan. Once we find her, we meet up and keep watch while someone does the dead.
"And if you can't pick who goes with who, I can."

Raii starts licking the back of his hand, as if to say he didn't care if this made anyone mad.

Bill doesn't even glance up from his emotionless staredown of the Lady Monterfort.
"I will accompany the Lady."

Lady Joanna could feel the hostility swirling off the undead. Her grin returned full force, beaming savagely at the corpse.
"Though how amiss of you - I introduced myself, but what's your name, I wonder? I do have a guess, indeed."

"Bill, the Terror of the Northlands is a name that should not be spoken so openly."

"I will accompany the cat. And perhaps teach it some discretion."

She lifted her hand to cover her mouth in mock shock. "Oh my~ Meeting someone some famous, I'm quite giddy. So that would be the Black Edge, if one may presume, and that beautiful lady the mind-snarer. I don't see the Assassin or the laughably named Harmony. Did they die when the heroes brought your tower down upon your heads?"

It was quickly becoming clear she grinned often and almost unnerving widely, revealing a mouth full of sharp, immaculate teeth.

"So why would such infamous figures need to split up in pairs for protection? The stories I heard made it clear you'd not need to do so against a single Hero. Interesting how fate twists, isn't it?"
She took another sip of tea, her own eyes - burning blue - meeting Bills.
