"I'm... not sure. Yes, I suppose, as long as there are still people left for me to enchant and land for me to rule at the end."

"If the fools who thought they beat us are dead, especially if it is by my hand, at the end of it, I will gladly aid the gnome. If not, but my ability to do so is not prevented, then I can accept his release, at the very least."

Dereth had his goals very clear-cut. The people who fought them would die. If at all possible, he would be the one to kill them. And he would make it very, very clear, that they knew that it was he who bested them and turned their body into a empty corpse.

Then he would probably ask Bill to embalm them, animate them and give them to him as servants and decoration. It would depend on his mood and whether the smell and reputation it gave him would be more overpowering than the satisfaction it would give him.

"Well, it's decided. Galia, deal with the guards immediately nearby. Dereth, start breaking the chains. Nep... keep your head down and keep up. "
Bill begins to summon Naberius, giving up Ability Healing in exchange for an extra spell slot (Exploit Vestige gives -5, end roll of 1d20+3. DC 15. Failure, lose Ability Healing and get no extra spell). Once done, he uses Disguise Self to make himself appear to be Galia's double.

Dereth shrugs and steps up to the cell, or into it, if he can.

"Guard your eyes; the fragments can be dangerous."

Then he realizes suddenly, and to his great annoyance; he can't use it anymore. The technique that let him shatter stone walls with ease...he can't use it anymore. His fury redoubles at the idiots who beat them, and the part of his mind that wasn't affected by emotion used this to help him strike with greater force. Stance taken and blade focus...release!

The blow that struck down on the chain appeared to be normal, but the link shattered well enough, while the blade in his hand held. The force that went into the strike was more than enough to break through simple chains. (Punishing Stance, Shadow Blade Technique, plus normal damage is 2d6+4 slashing damage plus 1d6 cold(technically), which should make the chain brittle and the like...)

((Back in the inn...))
Raii finishes up, and determined to keep his deal, heads out to find the jail, staying completely hidden in cat form.
"I'm sure that they must be on their way there now. Thanks for the time, sir," he says to the barkeeper.

The Prison [[Bill, Galia, Dareth, Glinn]]

Bill begins to summon Naberius, giving up Ability Healing in exchange for an extra spell slot (Exploit Vestige gives -5, end roll of 1d20+3. DC 15. Failure, lose Ability Healing and get no extra spell). Once done, he uses Disguise Self to make himself appear to be Galia's double.

[Bind: 20+3] The vestiges jockey around for a few moments before the switch is complete. Using your new ability you become an exact replica of the sorceress.

Dereth shrugs and steps up to the cell, or into it, if he can.

"Guard your eyes; the fragments can be dangerous."

. . .

[1+2+4+3-10] The first strike merely jostles the chain around. It seems you've overestimated just how powerful you are after so long comatose.

[1+3+4+3-10] The second strike cuts into the chain a little.

[4+1+4+1-10] The Third strike is about as effective as the first...

[2+2+4+3-10] The fourth strike widens the gap though the glacial rate at which this is going is a little embarrassing.

3+5+4+1-10] Oh, that was the problem. You just weren't hitting the right spot. With a masterful stroke you cut through the first chain. It falls limply to Glin's side. Now for the second.

[1+3+4+1-10] The second chain simply moves with your blade. No damage dealt... Frustrating.

[1+2+4+2-10] The damned chain absolutely refuses to hold still for a second.

[3+6+4+1-10] With a frustrated strike you manage to nearly cleave the chain in two. One more slice should do it.

[6+2+4+2-10]] Another clean strike through the chain sees Glinn freed. It would appear he wasn't expecting it as he falls to the ground.

"Excellent. Shall we go now?" the gnome asks as his chains clink lightly. Nearly a minute had passed. But you doubted anyone would be checking in.

The Streets [[Raii, Illandrial]]

It takes you a while but you eventually spot one of the members of the gang standing outside of the barracks [which is close enough to the prison] simply waiting. Walking up to him you are about to say something but are inturrupted by a small man in unassuming robes.

"Pardon me, but would you happen to be the Shadow?" the man is smiling broadly, as though he knew something you didn't, and was idly twirling his fabulous mustache.

The Sovereing Jester [Rikkimaru]

You start wondering if maybe you should do something... But these seats are REALLY comfortable...

"The shadow that walks, the shadow that talks, or the shadow that stalks?" Raii asks, trying to distract the man and remember if he knows anything of the sort.

Near the Barracks [[Illandrial, Raii]]

"Oh ho ho!" the man laughs "We have a funny one! I'm afraid I am talking to your associate. However, the Shadow I refer to is unable to follow simple directions and has a habit of sneaking into places it shouldn't."

Ilandrinal responds, speaking in Draconic.  "Perhaps the Shadow wouldn't have need to sneak into those places if he were treated with a modicum of respect."

Near the Barracks [[Illandrial, Raii]]

"Perhaps if he were capable of following simple instructions," the man replies in fluent Draconic "We would have no need of treating him as though he were not capable. A simple phrase was all he was required to say. Yet he failed at this task. Never-the-less I believe I have found our Shadow, don't you?"

Near the Barracks [[Illandrial, Raii]]

"Who would send a someone after a nobody?" the man seems genuinely confused at the implication "No. I am simply a messenger of sorts who has been paid well."
