"I believe you will have to find another one; my mind is not so easy to break, Jake. And will you cease referring to us as family members? It is unsavory, to imagine being related to some of them. Or married..."

Dereth shakes his head in mild disgust. Regardless of them being friends, family was a separate matter, entirely divorced from someone's worth or friendship.

Glin's smile seems rather dangerous "Is that so?"

[Fort: 5+6] Without a gesture or a word from Glin you find yourself sliding backwards at a high speed into the wall of the prison [-1] and are slightly stunned when you hit the stones.

"Glin's powers are not my own Dereth. You would do well to remember that."

Bill has been glaring at the gnome's forehead, fingers laced into a chin rest, since he last spoke, the seal he was drawing forgotten. He would have moved to calm the warrior, but he was here to gather information, any information. A theory was forming.
His eyes scanned the room, looking at the floor and walls for any drawings that might have been brushed away, smudged, or obscured in some way. Something like a circle, at least five feet across. After seeing Dereth fly back, he scans the ceiling too.
Once the presence, or lack there of, of a vestige's seal has been determined, he turns to Galia. "Do you still have the drawing of the elf?"

"And mine are not hers. But I will keep in mind what might be a necessary change in tactics."

Demonstrations were sub-par; showing an enemy your abilities rarely helped oneself if it came to a fight. But for intimidation...well, Dereth did not have an almost-unbroken winning streak because he picked fights with everything he came across. A portal to the positive energy plane might suffice to deal with this issue, if it came to that.

But so long as the...creature's...plans did not conflict with his own, there was no real need to fight it, in any case.

None but pride, anyway...

"Oh, that? Right here."

Galia removes the image from her satchel and hands it to Bill.

Bill brandishes the drawing in Glin's face. "Tell me about her."

"I don't know her. I'll let Glin take a look." There was a moment of silence before tears started welling up in Glin's eyes "No friends... I had friends before. She came with the Templars. Said my friends were evil. That I was evil. Killed my friends. Tried to kill me. I went invisible and ran. The followed for so long... I eventually outran them. Made it here... Made some new friends... No friends..."

"You're not evil, Glin. I've got what I needed, thank you. You can come back."
Handing back the drawing of the elf, Bill pulls out Glin's notes and begins to page through, looking for anything that looks like a Vestige's seal. After a minute, he looks at the possessed gnome over the papers.
"So, how have you been?"

"Sorry to hear that. I wish I could stop this injustice, but breaking you out of prison would be insane. I mean, you're the host of a malevolent being from another plane. Wouldn't you agree, Galia, Dereth?"
Bill looks at them meaningfully, hoping that they get his meaning. He turns back to Glin, showing him the paper with the square.
"What's this?"

For the first time Glin seems to perk up a little. Nowhere near his demeanor in the tomb but much more inclined towards someone who is excited "It's a project I was working on before the templars. You know about binders? Well they summon vestiges through some manner that I'm not entirely familiar with. I was attempting to summon the very essence of a plane. It worked well with the fire plane as well as the water. The air plane went... a little less well though. I..." Glin seems very confused "I don't remember what happened."

Bill can hardly contain himself. He's finally found what he's looking for and an exciting development in Binding.
"And which one is this, my friend? What words did you have say? How did you figure it out? Are there more in your notes? A square! By Wee Jas, a square! You don't know how far this will take the practice!"
Bill scans the notes for more of these rune squares.

"It's been some time but I think I could give you the basics if you wa-... I think Glin will keep that to himself for now." Apparently, the Negative Energy Construct was back.
