"Uh, yeah sure." Ganron says though he seems eager to stay with Galia. Never-the-less he goes along with you. While searching for the market you notice a large mustached man with armor that is a step above that of the normal guard who you can only assume is the Captain of the Guard. The market is near the northern portion of town and is quite large all things considered. Mostly it is every day items such as furniture or food however there are a few blacksmiths and one place that claims to sell magical items. As for a supply of coal, however, you can't gain any answers. Though some have suggested asking a blacksmith.

I pull Ganron to one side to talk with him.

"Right then. You seem awfully attached to Gal', far as I can see. I'm thinking as leader of this group it's my responsibility to handle these things, so I'm going to be up-front here. We'll be moving on as usual soon enough. Are you planning on joining in?"

"I-... Might. I've thought about setting off as an adventurer but... I don't really have the resources or experience for it."

Harmony smiles.

"Ah, thought so. This brings me to the first of two points to this discussion. If you're going to join us, you'll need more wits and more skill about you than you can hope for now. With that in mind, I'd like to make you an offer. You need experience, you need training, and you need someone looking out for you. I'll provide it. In exchange, you'll be working for me, accompanying us on our travels. What do you say?"

"Right, excellent, been ages since I had a student! First thing's first, you'll need to think about defending yourself on the road. Spear, dagger maybe? Give it some thought and let me know. I'm going to assume you don't have much in the way of marketable skills, either, so we'll work on your role around the same time."

Harmony twirled her dagger idly in a flashing arc.

"Second, a bit of a warning to you. You might want to keep an eye out around your friend. I've seen how she works, and there's no telling what sort of mind-altering magic tricks she's pulling on you. Way better at that stuff than I ever was. Not saying you need to break it off, but be careful, don't want to lose your wits."

She gives him a light pat on the shoulder.

"That said, I'm off to look for a blacksmith. If you need me I'll be in the markets."

Her piece said, Harmony looks for a blacksmith to borrow coal from.

"She wouldn't do that." is the last thing you hear from Ganron as you walk off as he walks off, to look for Galia you suppose.

Still, you have other stuff to do. You eventually walk into a blacksmith's shop. Upon hearing your request he can only look at you for a few moments. The huge hulk of a man scratches his chin before he says "Well... How much do ye need?"

"Two gold? For something I could make with a little fire and some wood? You insult me, sir!"

The man laughs a loud sincere laugh at that comment "Coal? Ha! Good luck with that. Still you seem a little shrewd. One gold then. It's a valuable resource to me. It drives my trade. As it can drive yours."

"Well, for a man like yourself I suppose I'll take that offer."

Buy the coal and a pouch to carry it in.

Galia, after her rather fruitless search for information, goes shopping to pick up some personal supplies, along with some odds and ends she'd been meaning to get.

Spoiler: List (click to show/hide)

Afterward, she returns to the place where they had encountered Zoe, to discuss further action with the others.

I head back to the markets, crushing the coal on my way and tying the pouch to my off-hand along with a tindertwig. I set myself up on a corner of the market, impressing passersby by performing tricks with my knife.
