[Helgoland]

A tavern in the harbor district of Argos, near dusk. The air is filthy, filled with the odors of sweat and cheap wine, but each table is packed. Except for one: At the far side, illuminated by a single flickering torch, sit five people who nobody wants to bother.

Who are they?

Based on ancient Greece, obviously. I really have no idea what I'm doing, so just stick to general Greek mythology/history and we'll see what happens. Just give me a loose description of your character.
Slots will be assigned tomorrow, so no first come, first serve until then.

One is an old man with a long, grey beard. His face is shadowed by a hooded cloak.

One is a young man. With long blonde hair. Who wears a quiver.

One is a man of 27 1/2 years with a huge beard, auburn hair, and with a sword strapped to his back.

The sword is one of the funny sort that start with the letter x.

Okay, in two hours I'll start this. There's still two free slots, people!

One is a teenager, with black hair and black eyes. There is an odd looking long sword strapped to his waist, inside it's sheath. It is oddly thick. He is wearing blue clothes.

The last is a youthful man with dark hair and an overly guileless expression. In place of a weapon, he carries a large lyre.

[Helgoland]

A man enters the tavern; tall, thin as a stick, completely bald. Not the type to frequent this sort of tavern. Presumably he's the one you're supposed to meet here.
With a rapid pace he approaches you and tosses a small bag onto the table.
"Consider this a down payment. Your target is Epidocles, who lives on a mansion about four dolichoi west of the city. Kill him, and return with the ring on the chain of his neck."
And just as swiftly as he came, he leaves.

Some names would be nice... Also some background info: Previous occupation(s), area of origin, etc. etc. I'll work out a rolling system till the next update, we'll do skill assignments then.

[Orange Wizard]

"My name is Ozymandias."
He throws back his hood to reveal a wrinkled old man, with a bald head covered in liver spots.
"I am the master of black magic."

Ozymandias believes himself to be a powerful wizard, when in reality he is just an old man. He has no skills to speak of.
He grew up, and spent most of his life, in a secluded temple on a mountaintop. His teachers were priests who worshipped Hades in search of immortality. At the age of forty, Ozymandias finally left, cursing the priests and declaring their worship to be frivolous nonsense.
Later, he joined a troupe of struggling actors and offered to do magic tricks. They only let him stay because he looked like he was enjoying himself. His tricks were terrible.
Once again, he left, this time because he believed the actors were under-appreciative of his great skill. Before long he was inquiring about job opportunities that could make use of his magic, such as this one.

Nikostratos, a young man of Thrace traveling the land as an entertainer as a means of establishing some money to help him make a name for his family and perhaps establish himself as a merchant, leans back, a frown fixed on his face. He had traveled to this town having heard by way of the local grapevine that there was someone offering payment for odd jobs around; he hadn't expected to be asked to kill someone.

"Well, that was... surprising."

Hearing the old man, he jumps.

"Black magic?!"
