Gerald swung his new blade around dashingly. He had chosen a long, tapered sword in the style of a Scimitar, with a fancy blue gem in the hilt. His armor was light, only cover his upper body with a plate, and the rest well made ringmail.

"Probably a fake." He comments, admiring the gem in the light. "Not that I mind. I once met a Geomancer who made a gemstone explode, ruined my favorite purple turban. Grubby Geomancers and their dirty tricks..." he grumbles.

Before the game proceeds, I would like to take a minute to describe how the rolling system in this game works:

Non-combat rolls are done by a D-6.

Combat rolls, however, are done by a D-100. AKA, I go on random.org and get a random number between 1 and 100. During combat, each player gets a roll. The player with the higher roll wins. We then subtract the losing player's roll from the winning player's roll, and then times what is left by the damage modifier given by the spell and/or equipment used. This is then subtracted from the opponents health. In order to regenerate health, you must be out of combat for at least one turn. Mana will regenerate at all times.

A blue light shines out of it, and you suddenly feel yourself twisting and warping inside. When your vision returns, you are standing on several thin, tall pillars. Below you are clouds. Falling would be bad, you feel. A voice booms out of the clouds above. "YOU MAY COMMENCE WHEN I SAY 'COMMENCE'. THIS WILL BE A RANGED, MAGIC BASED BATTLE."

By the way, the spell used when defending an attack gives no damage modifiers, and takes no mana. It is simply a bolt that takes no mana and gives no damage modifiers, but is ranged.
