You don't know exactly how much weaker she was made by the ordeal, and I find it more than probable that some of her higher level spells could affect Bill.

My point was about the mind-affecting bit, though. Especially for Necropolitans, though. Since they retain memories of life and all that. But mostly you phrased it really technically. "immune to mind-affecting spells" is pretty much quoting the rulebook. So you can see why I'm sketchy.

In all honesty, I don't think most corporeal intelligent undead should be immune to mind-affecting.

Think they should be damned hard to do anything to, since Vampires are vampires and Ghouls are trying to eat you, but the ones that aren't utterly insane should be technically affectable. Though actually managing it is a different story.

Also, damn, Bill's really got a hard-on for Wee Jas. Is Wee Jas really that strict and shit about other gods and people worshipping them and 'pronounce my name wrong and you DIE' stuff?
That's a good point. I did goof up there.

That's up to Nerjin.
One of the suggestions I found to fix the problem was to give them Iron Will. It's something, but I'm not sure it's enough.

And yes. He's pretty obsessed with religion. It's a big part of his code of honor.

And should Turn Undead, Rebuke Undead, Control Undead, etc work on the living? After all, if Undead minds are similar enough that spells designed for the living work on them, then surely spells designed for them work on the living.

There's a reason vamps and the like have turn resistance.

They were not 'designed to work on the living', they were 'designed' (with sorcerors and bards, that's not the right word...) to work on minds. Turn Undead, Rebuke Undead, Animate Dead, all that has to do with negative energy. For spells such as Dominate Monster, if you're trying to use it on a Spectre, expect backlash. If you're trying to use it on a Nightwalker, expect death. If you're trying to use it on a Necropolitan, be wary. That's what I'm saying. It shouldn't just not work, though.

Control Undead works on mindless undead as well as intelligent undead, so it probablt doesn't work through the mind.

Rules are rules only so far as they serve to assist the story, not hinder it. Rules for the sake of rules is...well...terrible, in a game built around cooperative story-telling. Which is, at heart, what most RPGs are.

Could we change the rules about training some? It should matter what they're going into, not what they already are, and if you're being trained by someone with similar enough skills, you should go a lot faster than just twice unsupervised speed. A Warblade should be able to train a Fighter and vice-versa nearly as well as they would their own class. And if you have, say, a multiclass Druid/Fighter, they should be fine at training a Ranger. A Bard might need another Bard, but a Sorceror with good Perform ranks is probably a better teacher than your stereotypical Wizard(actually, that would just make the bard good at different things, I think...the Wizard would be good at Bardic Knowledge training, after all.)

Plus, only twice as much for training a similar class seems a bit low, compared to five times as much for the same class.

That said, these aren't hard and fast rules, so we can handle them on a case by case scenario, I think.

EDIT: Yes, I know I don't have the Appraise skill. I was the security handler for the group, so if Nerjin sees fit to make it a class skill I'll switch some points into it, otherwise it's fluff and hopefully I don't get shafted. I should at least have a knowledge of what typical prices are, even without the skill, though.

Dereth has money, Nerjin.

"If I remember right, yours. And Jake's, yeah. Those divination safeguards weren't the problem, it was the goddamn budget for teleportation-anchoring and redirection. Could have shoved the lot of them into those very Nine Hells if I'd been able to get more than an intoxicated gnome to do the enchanting. But this isn't what we need to focus on. We need to leave. Now. Figure out how long it took to dig out of the rubble, and how we can find those bastards and kill them."

Dereth shrugs, seeing how his once magnificent Blade of the Perfect Stroke lacked any of the magical gleam it once had, and kicks a piece of rock as he begins walking in a random direction. South, it looked like, based on the sun. If he remembered right...he adjusted his course so he was going West-South-West, as he began going through the inventory of useful versus useless things still on his person. Necklace, ruined. Gloves, ruined. Gold? Mostly still intact, if scorched or bent in a lot of places.

I've got about 500 gold pieces.

If it is not on your sheet, it does not exist. I would also thank you to put which languages he knows sometime soon. You've had plenty of time to finalize your sheet.

I don't know what languages exist in the world. That's why there wasn't anything there.

Amount of time available to do X is subjective, since I've been busy with a lot of stuff.

Hell, I need a skill for this or something, because trying to word stuff in just the right way to turn an unassuming, random commoner into a mindless slave is... tedious, to say the least.

I guess I'll get by without it, but it would be nice.

You could just say
Code: [Select]
Grow army of mind-slaves.Everyone know what you mean by that. :P

You know what, maybe I should just start doing that. Work out roughly how many spells it takes to establish unquestioning obedience, the percentage chance of somebody failing that number of Will saves, and work from there. Daily schedule: wake up, get dressed, go adventuring, grind the idea that I'm so damned charismatic that doing everything I say is a great idea into some poor fool's head, go to bed, repeat.

But until we can start abusing the SRD's rules on purchasing buildings, two is enough, I guess. A party of eight (even if two of them are NPCs) is pushing it. I should know. Going beyond that without having some sort of place to have said minions hole up in until they're needed would be utter madness.

Yeah, that's a good point. Just a heads up I've changed a couple of the House Rules. These go into affect immediately. Change your character if you need to. This is what's new.

Classes
-Paladin casting is based on Charisma.

-Paladin’s ‘Smite Evil’ uses is now doubled [2/day at Level 1] and gains an extra use every two levels [3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19].

-Paladins may now multi-class without penalty.

-All classes who normally gain 2xInt skill points gain 4xInt skill points. Other classes are not affected.

Skills
-You gain skill points retroactively if you boost your intelligence modifier.

-Untrained Knowledge Skills will give vague information on a DC10+.

-Crafting mundane items takes 1 hour per 50gp in the base price. Aside from that it follows normal crafting rules.

Aw, sweet! Skill points!

Is it OK if I funnel one or two into Autohypnosis immediately?
