Crash when launching MDF

Hi guys,

Hopefully somone is able to help me with this problem.
When i try to launch MDF it crashes (DF not responding!)
the only thing i see is the commandprompt wich says

plugin stonesence has no enabled var!
Succubus reaction hook activated

and then it crashes.

I dont know why it does this and how to fix it :c

Try deleting Stonesense. And give more info. Which mod version, which OS?

I tried removing stonesense it did not change anything.
Im running the latest version of masterwork with default settings. On windows 7 home basic.

In that case go to your DwarfFortress folder and do this:
Find SDL.dll and rename it SDLold.dll
Find SDLreal.dll and rename it SDL.dll
Start DF.

That disables dfhack and we can at least find out if thats the source of the crash, because it looks like it. Otherwise I can only think of a botched installation, e.g. the archive didnt download completely, or your unpacking showed some errors.

The stone sense "error" is always there, just as an FYI.

Given the console, I'd say it should be either succubus/summon-hook or something outside of dfhack (it successfully completes the firts entry of the ini).

Not quite sure what exactly in that file could cause a crash though, so let's see what comes from disabling dfhack for now, I guess.

I did what Meph suggested and that got me to the point that MDF actally did launch but now im getting another error.
In a seprated window this time a GL error pops up

GPU unable to accomodate texture catalog. Retry without grapical tiles, update your drivers, or better yet update your GPU.

This is kinda strange because i CAN play vanilla DF with a texture pack and when i select ASCII i still get this error.

Ah, that should solve it.

Your graphics card doesnt support OpenGl. Is it an older laptop or netbook? Open the launcher (or the init), disable "Item Graphics" (first page) and change PRINT_MODE to 2D. I think its set to STANDARD by default. Then start DF. You can put that SDL.dll back if you like.

You cant have the item graphics, multi-z-level view or rendermax (light) this way, but if your graphics card doesnt support it, there is nothing you can do.

I really like MDF and i was almost afraid that i was not gonna be able to play it.

you can put all that other stuff back, Stonesense and dfhack and so on. It was really just the PRINT_MODE setting.
