"Whatever."
Robert continues to dare blankly at his teammates.

The chopper sets down on the ground, and the doors open. Despite it being nighttime, the crash site is well-lit by flaming wreckage and trees. The craft appears to be about the size of a Learjet, but its sleek lines and bulbous protrusions are reminiscent of something from Star Wars. There is a gash torn in the side of the hull, wide and tall enough to permit human entry. There is no  cockpit, at least not that you can see. As you exit the helo, you hear the co-pilot conversing with HQ.

"Spyglass Actual, this is Spyglass 1-1. Saber 1-1 is on the ground at the crash site. We are remaining on station for extraction if necessary."

The helicopter then takes off and begins circling the crash site. McTavish's radio crackles.

"Saber 1-1 Actual, this is Monitor. Remember: do not engage any targets unless they engage in hostile action first. We don't want to provoke an intergalactic war here. Monitor out."

You are now on the ground, 100 meters from the crash site.

"Roger. I'll be over here if you need me."

Head to the nearest good vantage point of the craft and start setting up and disguising my sniping position.

"Remember. Fingers off the triggers until we see definite hostile action. That goes double for you, Aklaq."

Gonna have a look around, see if there's been previous movement around here.

Search around crash site for any kind of tracks

Aklaq quite literally growled over the intercom.  She didn't like following orders, but she knew that sometimes she had to.  Sometimes.  "Understood, sergeant," she replied.

Aklaq quickly moves towards the gash, ready to go prone at the first sight of hostiles potentially benevolent aliens here to give out balloon animals.

"Right, right."
Robert walks toward the crash site, keeping a lookout for anything out of the ordinary.

The crash site is eerily still, save for the movement of the squad. Bridger manages to find a good vantage point behind a particularly large hunk of metal, and sets up there. Bones begins to look for tracks, but there are none in sight. Whoever or whatever was in that ship when it came down is still inside. The rest of the squad, save for Erik, make it to the gash on the side of the vessel. The hole opens into what appears to be a hallway running along the length of the ship. The hall is lined with ovoid lighting systems giving off an eerie blue glow.

Everyone except Bridger and Erik are at the entrance to the craft.
