Titus snorted with a laugh. "What? HAH! The East has plenty of actual bandits and its everyday, but a few stragglers with metal sticks and lean guts in the West is a call fer disaster?"

"Only makes sense a few would drift over here eventually. The bounty of the West isn't a mystery to us Easteners. Or maybe the 'bounty of the West' isn't quite what its cracked up to be."

"I'm unsure what kind of chaos breeds in Dapp, but under the prophet's shadow we pride ourselves in maintaining order against the depredations of criminals preying upon the innocent."

"And for the most part the sultans have kept order in the West. These bandits shouldn't have lasted this long and we owe it to the people to make sure it stops here."

: Come to think of it Titus, they've got a bit of the same, er, pronunciation as you do. Admittedly their accent wasn't as strong..

Alessa waved at Shabi.

"Hmmm. An entire group of... ME." There was a slight pause.

"Truly, a more beautiful sight there IS NONE! THE STRENGTH! THE POWER!" The giant of a man flexed his arms in bravado.

Cedomir chuckled rather heartily at this.

"The world would be CLEANED of EVIL and the MALICIOUS!"

"SPEAKING OF! Their accents do speak of a Eastern upbringing, but these were weak and pitiful. Hmph, no wonder they came West. Seems the city guard aren't DOING their JOB! Or there's another way past!" The man didn't seem to note the possible implications of what he spoke of.

:"Maybe they went around by sea or something?"

"Does it really matter? We shall return and make our report and then the decision of how to proceed will be made. We will either be given more work or not. Worrying about it does us no good here. It would be better to get those two ready for travel and then head out."

"It may be possible that our guards have finally slipped after all these decades." The prospect that the organization that she grew up completely believing in having failed did not sit well with her.

"But whether that is the case or not, we cannot assume such until after we have made certain that there is no other route. The Sharif should know of our battle and its implications."

Alessa inconspicuously flexed her arm, wondering if she had any lasting damage from the wounds of the battle.

"So, what's the plan now?" she asks bluntly. It seems that being in a physically unstable condition affected memory here. She hoped it was temporary.

"Head back and report what happened. Try to avoid getting these two killed for your and that fire idiot's incompetence. No matter what else, I suppose they don't deserve to die for you two screwing up."
