Saresh, who had been trying to keep an eye on Rooster and Federico, overheard their discussion. "...Why would bandits go to the trouble of removing a seal from a blade? Most brigands aren't exactly picky when it comes to arms."

"Maybe he thought the sword would look prettier if they removed the seal. Who knows, maybe those bandits were really concerned with their appearance."

Saresh raised an eyebrow. "I suppose it isn't impossible. But it doesn't seem likely either."

"...Maybe the Daorland family supplied them with weapons for some reason, and that's why the seals were removed from the blades. But then why would they leave the coat of arms beneath the guard? That's sloppy."

[Varee]

"So what next? should we regroup at the castle?"

Varian seems to ignore the discussion about the blade.

[Swordstar]

Kya frowned.
"That blade is important. It could lead us to who's supplying these bandits. For now, heading back to the castle is best.

"Mm. As you say, Commander."

The swordsman bowed to her respectfully and gestured to the corpses and wounded bandits that lay around the battlefield.

"What would you have done with them?"

[Khaiel]

Rooster facepalms at Christoph's comment, but he moves towards the bandit boss' corpse, and starts to look in his pockets.

"Rooster, don't you think it is a bit late for looting? Our silver haired friend already took what seems like the guy's only possession worth metioning."
"I am looking for papers."
"Papers? Paper money ain't a thing. Yet."
"Not that kind of paper. I am looking for a letter. Instructions. Something. The guy didn't seem smart enough to have been evading imperial forces for so long."
"I'll give you that, he wasn't exactly bright. If he had been, he would have fled when he saw his men were dying."

Taking a knife from his belt, Rooster cut part of the corpse's boots, showing a small piece of paper hidden within them.

"A letter. I told you Fede. Honoured Knights of the Order of Heaven, I believe I have something you might want to see."

"That so? Then I'll take it." Saresh extended his hand for the paper.

[Khaiel]

"Here you go, sir."

The paper has been folded and unfolded several times. Some of the letters are difficult to read now, but the calligraphy is clean and orderly.

We have found out that the CO of the Balthus Fort is going to leave the area, at least temporary. Attack while he is away and the imperial forces are without a leader. When you have finished, meet me in the road near the abandoned fortress of Tonitrua, in the border with Galgados.

I will be waiting. Do not fail us.

Saresh's eyes scanned the paper as he frowned. "Lady Frey. It seems to me we have business near the Galgados border. Have a look at this." Saresh handed the paper to Kya.

[Swordstar]

Reading over the note, Kya frowned and nodded.

"Right then. As soon as you are all rested up, we're heading out."

[Varee]

"OK lets get going then. Hey bald guy, are you and your friend coming with us?"

[Khaiel]

Rooster seems a bit annoyed at first by Varion's comment, but he just laughs a bit before saying something.
"I'd like to see you when you get to my age, boy. I doubt you'll keep all your hair for that long. But yes, we will probably go with you, we have been bored for quite a lot time, and this seems like an exciting to way to get some exercise. That is, of course, if the young lady doesn't have anything against it."

"I didn't meant to offense you old man, i just have a really hard time remembering names...."

Saresh spurred his horse back to the fortress, where the group would rest before heading out again.
