Christoph sighed and healed Kautof.

"I assume that you are the potential members that I was told to find? If so, I am Kya Frey, your new CO. Your old CO, Captain Prascus has been reassigned."

"Yes, that's us. I am Saresh, milady. Is there a reason Captain Prascus was reassigned so suddenly?"

The robed youth unceremoniously fell from Varion's shoulder, pale and bleeding profusely.

"It's nothing that those below the Third Order need to worry about. There are simply some changes happening. But our job remains the same. These bandits are far more organized than we would expect, so we are continuing to remove this problem, while looking for possible sources of funding they may have. Now... will you please look after that young man, you with the staff?"

Varian walks over to the healer.
"That mage guy is bleeding to death, just go help him ok?"

"I see. I assume you will be accompanying us rather more often, then?"

He inspects the blade he removed from the corpse of the bandit-leader, wiping his own blood from it on the cloak of the man whose death his own blade caused, before sheathing it, and strapping the weapon across his side, right above his first blade.

Christoph sighs in annoyance and taps Hix on the head with his staff.

The brief surge is enough as the youth pulls himself up, the rest of his wounds shutting quickly.

As things go back to normal, Rooster and Federico approach Kautof. It seems they are curious about the sword he just got for himself. Both of them get to where Kautof is, almost ignoring him and looking only at the sword.

"You thing that is what I think it is, Fede?"
"A crude mass produced weapon?"
"Yes. But it seems it used to have a symbol on the blade."
"Yup, and they used some kind of acid to make sure it was erased. They don't do swords like they used to any more. Back in the day you poured acid on a sword's blade and the blade would stay the same... I'd say the symbol is the Daorland's seal, by the way."
"How do you know? But now that you say it... It... It might be. Yes, the curves that weren't erased suggest that..."
"Well yes, the curves sugest that. That and the coat of arms of Galgados under the guard."
"And here I was thinking that you were a genius."
