My, this one was pretty, especially when he scowled. Klasha was tempted to annoy him more.

"So you guys normally do this? Fancy parties, 'cept you guys get to actually kill people. Conspiracies to topple nations 'n stuff. Lot more fun work than I was expectin'."

Sal gave a cough, though if one was paranoid enough, it could be seen as a bit of a chuckle, before tapping the knife on his belt. He was tempted to have fun with the man like Klasha, but decided against it.
: "I know how to use a blade, and I have that amazing presence that lets me slip by just about anyone.. Why, Kautof, what would your skills be?"

Klasha certainly achieved her goal of getting him to scowl again.

"Not normally, no, though I would be hard-pressed to say what normal is for most Knights of Heaven, considering I've only recently become one. Though...intrigue was unfortunately common in my home..."

He shakes his head to clear it of those memories before speaking again.

"I find combat enjoyable as well. It focuses the mind and clears it of unnecessary distractions. As for my abilities...I am an expert with a sword, and when my blood is spilled, it serves only to sharpen my reflexes, rather than to dull them. It is the way of Bushido; that of choosing death, whenever a choice between life and death is presented to you. The way of the warrior."

As he speaks, he focuses, bringing his sword up and inspecting it, reflecting on the combat that already been, and that which was to come.

"In any case. It is good to be able to meet and learn more of my allies. I shall need to do more of that in the future, if we are to succeed here."

Sal seemed somewhat... Confused by the idea of choosing death between life and death. Something that made him pause in thought, and n
: "Choosing death between life and death? That just seems foolish..."
Sal thought for a moment, his hand unconsciously patting a small pouch on his belt.
: "Whenever I've had the choice between life or death, I've always chosen life. I still cannot die just yet."

"Hey you guys seem to enjoying your chitchat a bit much, There still people who want to murder our face around this place, you can discuss life and philosophies later"

Kautof grinned. It was a predatory smile, but not an unfriendly one. Maybe if it had some mirth in it he would've looked even prettier.

"And as you can see...neither have I."

[Ochita]

Sal gave a small 'heh', before giving a grin of his own, though this one seemed somewhat different from the others.
: "Well then, seems that I'll just need to keep a closer eye on you, hmm?"

"Hey you guys seem to enjoying your chitchat a bit much, There still people who want to murder our face around this place, you can discuss life and philosophies later"

: "And here I was just getting warmed up.."

"People already murdered my face, its the rest o' me I'm worried about."

[Ochita]

: "For a murdered face, it seems more than alive enough for me. That, and the fact that you took down that guy with little more than a scratch.."
Sal gave a short smile at Klasha, before settling his face back into his normal calm expression, before he gave a short laugh.
: "Of course, don't think I'm admitting defeat of our contest just yet."

For a brief second, Klasha blushed slightly.
"Ah... well..."
She coughed and grinned again, flipping an axe from hand to hand before sending it to thud into the wall.

"That guy was pretty weak... barely even counted. Can't beat a good axe for a satisfyin' chop. Tried usin' swords once. Rapiers and the like. Never could get tha hang of 'em. Not enough heft."

"While there are blades that might match axes in terms of sheer force, much of the time you rely upon their light weight to allow for great speed and agility. Unfortunately, spears and polearms have enough reach that they can keep blade wielders back, regardless of skill or speed. The heft of an axe or hammer allows the wielders of such to knock aside those weapons and close in. The speed of a sword, meanwhile, allows one to dance around the comparatively slow swings of an axe."

[GiglameshDespair]

"'Course, I still gotta throwin' axe or two, so your fancy swordwork ain't worth anythin' if you can't actually reach me. Had a guy try to throw 'is sword at me once." She smiled at the memory.

It... ended badly for him.

The swordsman smiles once more, but this time it lacks the predatory air of the previous expression.

"I suppose we'll have to spar sometime and see, won't we?"

I'm always up for a fight. Don't go cryin' if I play too rough, though."

This time, Kautof grins, wiping a bit of blood from his chin.

"Don't worry; I like it rough."
