: "We should probably try to be undetected as much as we can, so I believe that the wine cellar is probably our best bet.. Still, considering its pretty much an ambush, maybe we should have some haste.. What does everyone think?"

[: I'm no stealth specialist, but the surprise factor could prove useful.

"Yeah.. .the giant suit of witch-armour ain't what i'd call stealthy. I say through the window."

She grinned and tossed her axe into the air, catching it by the blade deftly.

"No need to worry about bein' identified if there ain't survivors."

Hix shook his head about for a minute, before a dissonant voice returned.
: "As much as we would like to see a house of posh noble's reaction to a surprise attack, this one raises a good point. We have no means of discerning who may or may not hear the window. A misstep would cause the commander a fair bit of grief."
: "That said, neither of us have any reservations one way or the other." The robed youth raised his hand, letting a worm of dark energy writhe around it before dissipating.

The group of Knights finally entered the palace. As Kya and Saresh stepped into it, the guard announcing the guests took a sroll and cleared his voice before reading it.

"Lady Kya Frey of House Frey of Lucrecio, Imperial Princess and heiress to the principalties of Abel and Lucrecio and the county of Malakai, Knight of the Order of Heavens and commander of the forces of Fort Balthus.

Also Lady Aura Lucè of the Lucè family of Galgados and the Knights Sir Saresh, Sir Kautof, Sir Varion and Sir Christoph, of the Order of Heavens."

A single sentence had been enough to catch everyone's attention. Apparently only a few of the nobles knew well who Kya was before accepting Frederick's invitation. Most of them actually only knew that she was important because she was a member of House Frey, the ruling family of Lucrecio. It didn't take long before questions started being asked.

One could hear how the best informed of the nobles were able to provide their peers with an explanation as to why someone like Kya was heiress to some of the most important titles in the world: Kya's cousins were no others than the Empress herself and Prince Lucanor Giovanni Frey of Lucrecio, and as both of them reamained single and with no siblings or recognized heirs, Kya was their heiress due to Imperial law.

As the group got closer to the center of the main hall, a young man approached them, slightly bowing before Kya.

"Milady, I am so glad that my sister decided to let me know that you were in Hecate. I must say that descriptions were not accurate though, as they told too much about your titles and standing and too little about your beauty. I am Frederick Daorland, welcome to my humble abode."

Kya's smile wavered slightly as her full status was announced, but she managed to fix it back in place quickly enough. As they walked through the whispering nobles, Kya continued to look straight ahead, clearly treating the gossip about her as if it were beneath her. When they were approached by the host of the party, she gave him a graciously low curtsey.

"And we thank you for throwing such festivities for me. You are far too kind, both in this and in your compliments. It is an honor to be welcomed here. I have heard much about you and have looked forward to meeting you. I must say, it will be nice to have the comforts of nobility for the night. I have found myself missing these sorts of things since joining the Order. But the Empress must be pleased, as I'm sure you know."

Sal paused in thought, before nodding towards the Wine cellar.
: "We'll be going the initially quieter route. To the Wine Cellar."
Though the Wine cellar.

Through wine cellar, then.

"Your words are too sweet, I am just a humble server of our Empress, like all of us."
"I simply thought that this little event would be a good way of expressing Galgados' gratitude to the guardians of our Holy Empire. Even the mighty Knights of the Order of Heavens need some time to relax, don't they?"

The atmosphere in the main hall slowly went back to normal, as the nobles went back to talking about their businesses and plans, but still many of them remained around the group of Knights.

Meanwhile, the second group easily managed to get into the wine cellar. The drunk guards were easy to evade, and inside the cellar there weren't any soldiers. However, as the group approached the door that led to the rest of the palace, a conversation could be heard. There was someone in the corridor, at the other side of the door.

"I was kinda expecting you to be here, the legendary XII... But I wonder, why were you sent? Did he know what we were doing, or was he worried about her?"
"That is none of your business."

Klasha silently slipped her axe out, waiting motionless by the door. She continued to listen.

Sal's eyes go wide, and he put a finger to his lips, indicating everyone to stay silent.

"It is quite true, I'm afraid. We have much work to do, especially with the ever increasing bandit attacks. I admit, my men were happy to hear that this trip would not involve much of that. And I was happy as well. After all, I can't go risking myself too often. Not with my other responsibilities to uphold. But ah, where are my manners? If I could introduce you to my escort this evening. Sir Saresh, a fine knight of the Order. He has proven himself quite well already, if I do say so myself."

"Bandits? I suppose that with the current situation, there must be a lot of them. I suppose it's not that strange for the Order to be taking care of them if they are too many."
"Greetings, Sir Saresh. You must truly be a skilled Knight, if you have been assigned with such an important person."

"It doesn't matter anymore. Lord Gaul's plan is already in motion. Whatever you try to do, you won't be able to stop him."

The sound of footsteps can be heard, and soon, the remaining voice says something.

"Assault group, commence operation. Get Lady Daorland to safety. Any opposition will be considered hostile and must be eliminated or evaded. Arbiter Aizen is in the palace. Do not engange him. XII out."

Just after these words were spoken, someone opened the door on the other side, revealing a man wearing dark robes. It was hard to say, but he seemed almost amused.
"You better move, Frederick's office is at the end of this corridor."

After saying this, the man started to walk to the opposite direction at which he had pointed, as if nothing had happened. Just before he goes around a corner, he stops like he is about to say something, but then he simply continues.
