Klasha sighed before standing up.
"Geh. I'm supposin' we should. Alright, Sal, you lead on."
She tossed the cost of the drinks in grubby coins onto the table.

Marina surely knew how to spread a rumor. Before a few hours, every noble in Hecate knew that Kya Frey of the House Frey of Lucrecio was in Hecate. And before night came, Frederick had already sent an invitation to her sister and her guests to come to his house the next night to "properly honour such distinguished guests".

By the next morning, everyone in the Hecate knew what was going on, as Frederick had made sure of this, paying the expenses of dozens of feasts and parties throughout the city. By the time the group was preparing to leave the tower of Tarth Lomen, the city guards were already having some trouble keeping things in order in some areas of the city, due to small fights between people who had partied too much.

"Now, before we go to Frederick's little reception. Frederick has allowed us to bring as many guards as we want as part of your entourage. That means he is planning something. Considering we also need to get to Frederick's office while Lady Marina and Lady Kya serve as a distraction, I'd suggest only a few of your men come with us to the reception."
"The others should try to sneak into the building and get to Frederick's office. I'd suggest Salvador goes with this group due to his... Invaluable talents."

: I don't think this armor allows for much stealth, but if I were to be too suspicious following Commander Kya I could try.

"I was thinking that it might be best for you to go with the other group, Seraphim. You stand out perhaps a bit too much, and would likely be expected to remove your helmet if you stayed with the group. It would only be polite and would be a breach of protocol to not. Saresh will obviously be coming with me. Perhaps one more with Sal and the others, and the rest may come with me."

: "Mhm, I'll take anyone who wishes to sneak though this.. But are you sure that the large suit of clunky metal armour will really help me out?" Sal shook his head, though it had a slight smile. "Still, some muscle if things go wrong is never bad... Heh, it's been a while since I've done something like this."

Hix clapped just loud enough for the others to hear, quickly followed by gesturing to himself, then to Sal.

"Let's just hope things go smoothly." Saresh adjusted his vestments. It had been quite some time since he'd worn anything particularly formal- Since he'd distanced himself from his family, in point of fact.

"It appears Hix wishes to go with the sneaking group. Perhaps that is for the best. Keep our mages out of sight... I think that would be the best division of forces if those four are sneaking and the rest are with me. If there are any objections, speak now. Otherwise, we should head out."

"Well, it seems everything is set... Ah, before I forget. Take this Salvador, I think you'll find it useful."

Salvador received Lockpick (15/15)

"And now we should go. It's going to be a long night."

It was already dark when the group arrived to the reception. Apparently all nobles from Hecate and the surrounding lands had been invited to the event. Some of the most powerful people of the principalty were there. It seemed like Frederick had pulled every string and called every favor to get them there.

Finally, the carriages got to the doors of Frederick's palace. A group of guards arrived to escort the newcomers, but when it became evident that the new guests were the Knights of the Order of Heavens, they decided to step back.

Marina, after getting out of the carriage with Marcial's help, said a few words before continuing. She was probably nervous, as you were all risking your lifes here, but she didn't show it.

"Well. Now is your moment to shine. Marcial and I will go first, so the nobles' attention will already be on the door when you come. Be careful. We are walking straight into a trap, but we have to maintain the masquerade for as long as possible."
"Aura please, keep an eye on Lady Kya for me."

As she was entering the palace, one of the guards near the entrance annouced her, and the murmuring of the nobles could be heard from the outside.

"Lady Marina Daorland, of House Daorland of Galgados, and Sir Marcial of the Order of Heavens."

It was going to be a long night.

It is hard to keep the guys protecting you happy when they see their lords partying while they have to work. That's why many nobles had the habit of giving their guards a little reward in the shape of alcohol and a good meal when a event of this kind was being held. And Frederick Daorland was no exception.

Even with Seraphim and his heavy armor, the group led by Salvador managed to easily sneak into Frederick's state. They even managed to see their comrades get to the palace's entrance. Sneaking into the palace itself to get to Frederick's office would be easy. But there was a very important choice to be made.

The entrace to the wine cellar was almost unguarded, the few guards assigned to it already drunk. A simple entrance, with little risk of being detected. But getting to Frederick's office would be hard. It would also be possible to also enter through the window of one of the rooms, but that would probably mean breaking the glass, increasing the risk of being detected.

It was going to be a long night indeed.

Kya sighed.

"Very well then. Saresh, your arm please."

Resting her hand lightly upon the offered arm, she steered the two of them towards the entrance, taking a deep breath, before putting on a smile, ready to face the thing she'd thought she'd escaped years ago.

"I'll be by your side no matter what happens,  Commander." Saresh said as he gave Kya his arm as requested. He was not watching his date as the two approached the door. Rather, his eyes flitted about, taking note of his surroundings. He would be closer to Kya than anyone else tonight, so if, or rather when, he had to be ready to get her out of danger.
