"Well, it seems everything is set... Ah, before I forget. Take this Salvador, I think you'll find it useful."Salvador received Lockpick (15/15) "And now we should go. It's going to be a long night."
It was already dark when the group arrived to the reception. Apparently all nobles from Hecate and the surrounding lands had been invited to the event. Some of the most powerful people of the principalty were there. It seemed like Frederick had pulled every string and called every favor to get them there.
Finally, the carriages got to the doors of Frederick's palace. A group of guards arrived to escort the newcomers, but when it became evident that the new guests were the Knights of the Order of Heavens, they decided to step back.
Marina, after getting out of the carriage with Marcial's help, said a few words before continuing. She was probably nervous, as you were all risking your lifes here, but she didn't show it.
"Well. Now is your moment to shine. Marcial and I will go first, so the nobles' attention will already be on the door when you come. Be careful. We are walking straight into a trap, but we have to maintain the masquerade for as long as possible." "Aura please, keep an eye on Lady Kya for me."As she was entering the palace, one of the guards near the entrance annouced her, and the murmuring of the nobles could be heard from the outside.
"Lady Marina Daorland, of House Daorland of Galgados, and Sir Marcial of the Order of Heavens."
It was going to be a long night.
It is hard to keep the guys protecting you happy when they see their lords partying while they have to work. That's why many nobles had the habit of giving their guards a little reward in the shape of alcohol and a good meal when a event of this kind was being held. And Frederick Daorland was no exception.
Even with Seraphim and his heavy armor, the group led by Salvador managed to easily sneak into Frederick's state. They even managed to see their comrades get to the palace's entrance. Sneaking into the palace itself to get to Frederick's office would be easy. But there was a very important choice to be made.
The entrace to the wine cellar was almost unguarded, the few guards assigned to it already drunk. A simple entrance, with little risk of being detected. But getting to Frederick's office would be hard. It would also be possible to also enter through the window of one of the rooms, but that would probably mean breaking the glass, increasing the risk of being detected.
It was going to be a long night indeed.
