"I don't have to deal with this." Saresh muttered before walking away. He chose not to leave the tower- He had no reason to go into town, except perhaps to waste some time, and it would be better for him to lay low until the event.

Klasha shrugged, relaxing her fists. Why was the knight acting like she'd set upon him, rather than the other way round?

She decided to get a drink in the nearest, roughest pub -  and she kept an eye out for people with the same tattoos as earlier. Soldiers loved drink and women: both were found in drinking dens, and both could inspire carelessness...

Seraphim walked next to Kya and whispered something.

: Excuse me, but how should I introduce myself? Someone could recognize the name Seraphim even if there's only a slight chance of it.

He pulled out the iron pike that got stuck to him in the battle earlier.

: With this and my armor I could pass as a regular knight.

Sal looked at the two bickering, and gave a sigh. Checking his gear once again, he turned to look at the rest of the group, and gave a short bow to Marina.

: "I'll be back shortly, but I have my own matters that I must attend to. I'll keep an eye out for the woman that left, and to try to keep her out of too much trouble.."
And with that, Salvador slipped past everyone, and out of the room.

"Using your name should be fine. People are named after ancient heroes and such all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if there were others who shared your name here. You should be fine. Although, that pike might be better served in the hands of someone who could use it."

: Well, I don't think history remembers me as an ancient hero, but after your reaction I don't think anyone will believe I am who I am at first. I'll make sure to give the pike to that soldier as soon as real trouble arises. What's his name again?

"Ah, yes, that will work. His name is Saresh."

Klasha didn't take long to find such a place... However with her being a woman, no matter how rough looking, it wasn't long before some less than respectable men thought they could have a bit of fun with her. As Salvador finally found her, a few of the men surrounded her.

"What is someone like you doing in a place like this?"

Klasha leaned back on her chair. She sipped from a mug full of potent-smelling brew while her eyes flicked from man to man. She sighed.
"You know, normally, I'd love a fight. But I kinda said I wouldn't, and I ain't giving that stuck-up bastard the satisfaction. So I'll give you guys a chance to leg it."

She hadn't noticed Salvador. She casually took a swig.

"I used to know a lotta people like you. But after I gave the daft bastards the thrashin' of their lives, they stopped referring to me as someone like you an' started calling me boss." She chuckled. "So shove off, before I give you lot the same treatment, yeah?"

Sal moved, keeping out of Klasha's field of view, until he was at least somewhat closer to the group, ready to intervene when the men inevitably grew rowdy. He otherwise did nothing, but lean against the closest support.

At the bar:

Apparently these men were still sober enough to realize that Klasha was not joking at all. After this small incident, Klasha enjoyed a respectable amount of personal space, as no one dared to step too close to her. It was then when she noticed Salvador in the bar.

Meanwhile, Marcel had called some servants to transform part of his office into temporal barracks for the knights. Less risk of attacks that way, he said. After having been travelling for almost a week, however, the accommodations seemed quite good.

While this was being arranged, Marina made a gesture towards Kya, telling her to follow. Marina waited for Kya before stepping onto a woodden platform. It wasn't hard to see that it was some kind of elevator system, possibly using polleys and similar systems. There was a railing on the platform, and Marina leaned back on it.

"I would suggest you do the same if this is your first time using one of these, it can be a bit unstable."
"My apologies about it, but I have not been able to refine the original design. I used to have a lot more time for that when I was studying, but the current situation of the Principalty gives me little time for things like that."

"Hmm? You're one of those Knights. You here to check I'm ain't starting trouble?" She grinned teasingly.
"What a charmin' gentleman."

"Oh, uh, right."

She grabbed onto the railing and braced herself.  As they started to move, she shook her head.

"No, this is quite impressive. If you don't mind me asking though, what is the current state of affairs here? I'll admit to know knowing much about it."

On the elevator, with Kya and Marina

"I see... Well, about a week after Lady Elisabetta became the Empress, my father died during an accident. I had recently arrived from finishing my studies at the Great University of Lucrecio, and knowing about the recent changes in Imperial Law after the Empress' coronation, I declared my intention to claim the title of Princess of Galgados, by virtue of being the eldest child."
"Traditions die hard though, and both of my brothers also wanted the title. Karlson because he was the eldest son, Frederick because he said Karlson was not fit for the position. And about that he was right, Karlson spends his time in games and parties, and he does not know about politics, economy or governing."
"After more than a month of intrigues and complex plots set to destroy each others' reputation, I was about to retire my claim and support Frederick, but then I started getting reports that suggested Frederick could be working with some external power. That was about a month ago."

At this point the elevator finally stops. You are on one of the upper stories, and Marina guides you to her chambers, where some servants are waiting and after a few instructions start taking your measures.

"Right now things are... Messy. Frederick has the support of many nobles, and he has hired a small army of mercenaries with their money. Karlson is the favourite of many peasants, and I must admit he seems to inspire loyalty to them. I have managed to keep control of most of the guard in this city, and Marcial openly supports me..."
"And... I am not sure how relevant this might be, but you should know. There have been some assassination attempts against me, and on two of them, several mysterious cloaked men came to help and escort me to somewhere safe. Marcial and I don't know who they are, and they banished after both events, but I believe they might be useful allies. And even if they do not show up, as a Knight of the Order of Heavens, I think it is a wise thing to tell you about it."

Kya frowned slightly and nodded.

"I see... Do you have any solid leads on his working with people? The fact that nobles support Fredrick is worrying, especially with the support they can give them... Do you think they would turn on him if his true allegiances were revealed? As for those strangers who have helped protect you... That is interesting. I would like to encounter these men, though not if it means that you were at risk of dying. But any allies we could find would be helpful I suspect.
