Kya hesitated and then sighed.

"I... Yes, I know what you mean. I don't like the idea but... I understand why you would suggest it. Though, I warn you, the man we fought... If he is indeed the assassin, he knows my name and face."

"That shouldn't be too much of a problem. If we do it well, Frederick won't have any option but to organize at least a little a reception for such a distinguished guest. And that is all we need to get into his home. Everything else will be easy."

"I understand that I am asking for something far more difficult than what it seems. But our duty is not an easy one. Well, now you should write your message, and then we should go talk with Marina. We will need her help. Your men can stay here, come with us, or go around the city. I am sure any rest they can get today will be useful tomorrow."

Saresh leaned close to Kya and whispered surreptitiously. "Commander, what exactly does Marcial mean for you to do?"

"I... He plans to use my family name to force Frederick a reception in my honor. When he hears that I am here... Noble obligation will force him to do something for me. Which will allow us access to his home and allow the rest of you to find the proof we need while I stay and smile and be pretty for the social high life here. Something I never planned needing to do, since my joining of the Order had been planned since I was born basically."

She sat down with a sigh and started to work on the letter. She wasn't looking forward to this plan, and so she focused on making sure she put everything she knew about the situation into the letter.

"I see. But I am not versed in espionage, and moreover, if the things we suspect about Frederick are true, and his lapdog does recognize, you may be in danger. I believe it would be best if I were to escort you at the event, with your permission. I come from a noble background- I shall play the perfect gentleman."

"I... well, my whole entourage would be invited, or else it could be seen as if he doesn't trust me. Which would be an insult he would not risk. But... It would also be more befitting if I were accompanied by an escort. So... I accept your offer. It would be the best idea. Thank you."

While Kya and Saresh speak, Marcial is whistling at a pigeon that was on his window. In the end the pigeon comes to his table. It seems it is going to be the one bearing the message. But the whistling also attracts somethinf more than just a pigeon. Someone knocks at the door before entering.

"Marcial, are you... Oh. I see you have guests. I am sorry. I will come back later."

"Please stay. We were actually going to go talk with you. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Marina Daorland, our host. And possibly the next person to take charge of this Principalty. Milady, these are Commander Kya Frey, of the Order of the Third Heaven, and her men. And I think two of your employees are with them too."

"Frey, huh? Well, they do have something similar about them..."

"Please excuse me for going straight to the point but, if you are here, I believe Marcial must have already told you about our little problem with my brother. Marcial, do you think they can help us?"

"Yes. Actually I have something resembling a plan. Maybe it's three quarters of a plan, but time is against us, and we have to act fast. Do you think you could make it known that Miss Frey is in the city before this night?"

"Wait, what? That is your plan? It is... It is perfect. Yes... Frederick has a reputation for these kind of things... If it were made public... Marcial, how did you come with such a plan?"

"One starts to think outside the box after being in my position for a few years."

Since she entered the room, Marina hasn't been paying much attention to anyone other than Marcial and a bit to Kya, so she's actually a bit surprise when she finally sees Salvador and Aura.

"When I sent you out for Lambrose, I did not think you would find someone that could help us so much. It seems I chose the right people for the job."

Kya stood and bowed to their host before walking over to the pigeon and attaching the letter to the holder on its leg.

"I don't suppose you would have any clothing fitting for what we have planned? Sadly I do not have the necessary wardrobe with me as I was not planning on such a thing... And to show up in my current outfit would not do for what we are trying to achieve."

"I think I might have something... Can you come with me? It won't be until tomorrow at the earliest that Frederick decides to make his move, but we are going to need some time to prepare you."

Feel free to roleplay and interact now, as your characters can take the rest for themselves. We will continue when everyone is finished (unless it takes too long)

"Of course. The rest of you are free to do what you wish, within reason of course. Remember that we are guests in this town and try to avoid drawing attention to yourselves. That means if you're going out, no wearing the Order's insignia or identifying yourselves as a member of the Order. We're keeping a low profile here. That is all."

She nodded to Marina to indicate she was ready to go wherever.

"No worries, boss. I'll keep my bar-fights small scale... or won't get caught, at least."

"I do hope you're saying that in jest. If you want to catch the man you're after, keep your head down and stay out of trouble." Unlike the even, measured tone he took with the other Knights of the Order, Saresh's voice was harsh and snide toward Klasha. "If he catches wind that we're here before we want him to know that fact, we could be in a lot of danger- and your quarry could easily escape again."

"Of course I'm jokin'." She scowled, bristling at his tone. "So why don't you take that stick out of your a- keh!" She bit off her words, remembering she was meant to be civil. "You don't hafta like me, knight, but at least treat me like I ain't a moron. Wasn't me who let 'im get away, was it?"

"Shift the blame as much as you like, it doesn't change the fact that you didn't stop him either. Don't muddy our reputation with your failures- we completed our objectives perfectly." Saresh folded his arms over his chest. "You'll be treated as you behave, by the way. So if you wish to be thought of as intelligent, behave as such."

Klasha growled low in her throat. Obviously knight girl hadn't told the rest of her cronies about the whole respecting thing.

"I wasn't the one who had 'im surrounded. So sneer all ya like, ya arrogant ass. You can think I'm dumb because I don't speak prim and proper, but only cos you're head's too far up ya own ass to see."
