Saresh shrugged, but kept his voice down when he responded. "They've come to be knights of the Empire, just like us. I'm withholding judgement right now."

Kautof had held his peace, as he often did, when dealing with matters such as these; there was little more that needed to be said. But idle superstitions and suspicions about inconsequential matters were, frankly, ridiculous.

"One of them is capable of healing our wounds; if you find this ill-pleasing, I suggest you reconsider. Do not let it make you reckless in combat, however. We are few enough that should any one of us fall, it is likely the others will swiftly follow."

"That not what i imply. The point is i feels someone might need to stay with them in battle in case they need help."

While Varion, Saresh and Kautof were talking, Prascus mounted his horse and left a final piece of advice before heading out of the fortress.

: "Try to work as team, boys. You are Knights of the Order now, part of something much bigger than yourselves. There are thing no one can do alone. Remember that."

As he said that, he proceeded to ride north, following the course of the river. You had been left alone, with the responsability of protecting the fortress and the nearby village. You would have to show him that you were up to the task.

Saresh went toward his own mount, grabbing hold of the reins. "I trust that no one will object to me patrolling the perimeter?"

As you were going out to start patrolling, you saw people running away from the village. Some thugs with weapons forced them to go back, and it wasn't hard to see that those were the bandits Prascus had told you about. However, they seemed really well organised, and their leader looked more like a military officer, not like the boss of a group of bandits.

"This is our chance. Take the fortress, kill anyone who tries to stop you. We are finally taking this valley for us."

"Aye boss."

Saresh pulled out his lance- He would not fail his first assignment. "Hey! It's happening, the bandits are here already! We meet them on the field of battle!" Saresh rode forward, not ready to engage just yet- though he would not let the villagers be slaughtered.

: "...Hmph."
Still leaning against a nearby wall and slowly skimming through his tome, Hix huffed in annoyance and closed the book with a loud clap. Looking outside a fortress window, he slowly made his way towards the entrance.

Hearing Saresh's anouncment, Christoph ran to the entrance.
"I guess these are the bandits we're looking for. Certainly don't look like a nice group of fellows."

Without bothering to look out the window, Kautof drew his blade, inspecting the edge briefly, though he knew it was in fine condition.

"Very well then. They shall be felled as rice before the harvest."

Before anyone could stop him, he strode out the front gates, walking purposefully toward the bandits, a neutral expression on his face.

"Hmm... Look at that. They look like Knights of the Order of Heaven. Very well then. Kill them all. We can't leave witnesses."
