5 minutes in the future the government has banned the consumption of alcohol. An elite team of men and woman named prohibition works enforce that ban with deadly force. Consumption, possession, distribution, encouraging people to drink, expressing displeasure with the law, saying alcohol is not a bad thing or anything else related to avoiding that ban is punished by death without trial. Offenders are shot on sight whether in the street or deep in there crime dens.
none are safe.
The game starts 5 years after the ban most people are still not happy with it but they live with it it is now unlikely for somebody to drink in the street like it was at first. the streets ran red with blood that day and the places where people gathered in protest took days to clean up.
The team in this game is just this citys force
In this game you play as one of the members of prohibition works a not at all secret government organization dedicated to stopping alcohol. your task consists of 3 main things:
Patrolling the streets and shooting anybody caught with alcohol
Investigating alcohol crime to find criminals to kill
Conducting raids on alcohol users
not all members of the team will do all 3 things some will only do 1 or 2 of them but most do all 3.
The police are also meant to kill anybody with alcohol but prohibition works specializes in it.
Prohibition works technically has the power to arrest people for other crimes so when they are on patrol they will arrest any lawbreakers they see. however they are so fanatical about alcohol that they will drop everything to chase after a drinker.
mechanics:
Players will spend most of there time in hq while in hq feel free to socialize and rollplay
Whenever you feel like killing feel free to go out on patrol i will work out what you find while your on patrol. Generally killing a random civilian in the street will be an automatic success
Occasionally you will receive information that will lead to an opportunity for investigation the gm will have all the available evidence figured out beforehand its your job to find that evidence and work out what it means. until somebody shows up that wants to play a forensics expert all forensic work will be handed off to police.
Raids this is where the meat of the game is. sometimes your investigations will lead you to a den of debauchery or a factory of liquid evil. and sometimes you will just receive random knowledge of these places generally things the police uncover while investigating other crimes or tip offs from concerned citizens.
When a raid is called for hq (the gm) will decide how many people to send in and ask for volunteers. the people chosen will then engage in the raid
raid rules:
This is where the rtd part of this rtd kicks off
Each turn of a raid will be extremely short usually ranging from a around 3 seconds to 10 seconds although if necessary a turn can be shorter or longer.
If the players perform actions that bring them out of time sync (e.g one person performs a 5 second action while another takes a minute) i will perform actions of the person who has fallen behind only until its all caught up. If that brings it past the others it switches to them until it all syncs up.
Rolls will be heavily situation bonus based meaning that you will get positive modifiers to your roll if your in a situation that gives you an advantage such as surprising an enemy (in most raids the first turn will get bonuses for everybody as the targets react to the sudden intrusion) and negative modifiers if in a bad situation such as being on the ground.
Due to the highly serious nature of the combat rolls of 6 will be treated as a 5
You will use standard weaponry such as assault rifles, snipper rifles and shotguns but not cutting edge things like gause rifles and obviously you cant carry around the power for a railgun as well as explosives but are taught to exercise caution in there use around large amounts of alcohol. You will occasionally make use of tanks and other military vehicles but this is rare outside of helicopter rides to the target
No flamethrowers.
The tone for this game will be kinda serious your investigations can sometimes uncover outlandish situations and you can be fairly crazy with your rollplay. after all your all fanatics your bound to be a little insane. but combat will be highly serious but i will encourage awesomeness in some situations (swinging around on a rope kicking your enemies=probably not ok, jumping onto a rope and swinging down to catch a fleeing target=probably ok)
BlitzDungeoneer i know i told you could could be a traitor in my next rtd but im sorry prohibition works only only accepts fanatically anti alcohol people a traitor would never get through all the testing and whatnot
Name of rtd is a reference to grand theft auto: san andreas
