not sure if this is a bug
« on: August 25, 2014, 01:55:06 pm »

My world view is locked it wont even let me get past the edge of my view. i'm locked in, i press tab and all corresponding buttons to navigate ur little x cursor but it won't go past my current view point. I've hit a lot of buttons but everything in the game seems to be going even when i change elevation its always in the same point in the map.

How big is your world? Pocket or small worlds are about as big as a region is so it will look like you have two region maps.

Or do you mean in fortress mode? In fortress mode you can only view your initial embark area.

EDIT: Hang on now I get what you mean, what menu are you in? Are you in the K (look) menu or something else?

Are you looking for the region and world from that 3-pane window where you picked your embark spot? You now live on that 4x4 (or so) you selected on the left there. No expanding, vacations or anything, that river not far away from it is as unreachable as if it were at the other end of the world.

If you really want to see it again you could copy the save and abandon the fortress in one copy, then you can look at those maps while choosing another spot or pretending to.

In case you could move around after hitting "embark" ignore everything I said ;)

Yeah like I mentioned before, you can not leave your embark area unless you retire or abandon your fortress.

That will be implemented somewhere down the road. Anywhere from 1-10 years.

I don't mind answering newbie questions. The 2 minutes it takes to answer is worth it, the game can be confusing at times. Fresh blood is always good.
