Adventure mode vampire making doesn't work?!? v40

I adventured over to a vampire-infested village and killed a vampire, making sure to drink her blood, as well as taking a bunch for later.  However, no matter how much I drink, I don't become a vampire!

I tried sleeping, drinking more blood, etc.  Is this a bug or have things changed?

are you already a werecreature?  I believe the two are incompatible. 
If not, then I suspect this has something to do with the fact that drinking random coatings of blood and such no longer quenches your thirst..

You must drink vamp blood from floor not from some item.

No you don't, I've drank the blood from vampires from my sword, also this shouldn't this be in the adventure thread?
