*sigh*
Look, this thread has gotten way out of hand. And I'm the first to admit that yeah, it's probably my fault, and yeah, I've been a jerk about it. I don't let myself get caught up in this sort of thing normally, but for some reason, I let myself get all worked up.
So, for anyone who I've offended, I apologise. And especially I apologise to anyone who lost respect for me upon reading this thread.
And so I'll say my last before I fade off into obscurity once more.
Moin - you are acting like an idiot. And you know you are. You sit there and feign ignorance and defend yourself behind the thin veneer of 'humour' but you know what you're doing. You honestly couldn't have survived in a civilised society for this long if you are unable to at least fake a civilised attitude. No-one needs, wants, or asks for your constant posting of your vapid opinions, void of anything meaningful or relevant to anything that's going on around you.
Respect is something that is earned, not granted. And I, for one, am not going to lower my standards because you refuse to raise yours. I do not respect you. I will not lower myself any more than I already have (and do I ever regret that) to accommodate for your lack of common sense and intelligence. If you want to be treated with anything over than contempt, fury, and outright hatred you will have to learn to act like a decent human being and prove yourself to be a worthwhile addition to our community.
Think about the problem you have. Search around the forums to see if someone else has the same problem, and how they fixed it. Look it up on the Dwarf Fortress Wiki. And then, and only then, construct a well thought-out, polite, intelligible question to post in the relevant section of this forum (and not in this thread). No, we don't need an update about every little thing that happens in your life. Yes, we've read the dev_notes and yes, we're all aware of what DF will eventually become. No, we don't care about your pointless role-playing unless you take the time and effort to make it interesting to us. Yes, this game is hard, and yes, we're willing to help someone who deserves to be helped.
