I hover about, hoping for a job - I spent my last money to get my room at the inn.

Isabelle looks over at the ogre and sighs.
"Why did you take that again?"

"Little elf said so"
Vorot say as he unroll the bandit and shove him toward the elf.

Kalen offers a sick smile, and turns to the people in the inn. "People of Eschenbach! We have just returned from Skull Cave with your blacksmith, who has just returned to his workshop. While we were there, we killed many bandits, and I took this one, who I suspect to be the ringleader alive! There was more cave to explore, and possibly more bandits to kill, but once I got the hostage I decided not to jeopardize him by lingering further."

The shadow elf gives a sick laugh. "I seek to surrender this captured bandit for the town to interrogate or punish as it pleases, and then collect the reward offered for the rescue for myself and my professional goons."

Isabelle hits Kalen in the back of the head with her staff.
"You were a pussy and let the ogre do all the work, don't oversell yourself."

Kalen winces as the staff connects, "At least I didn't get myself beat to a pulp, or allow one of them to escape into the trees." He answers, turning with his hand on his sword handle. The last thing he needed was to be pushed into fighting one of his own goons in public, but Isabelle was quickly starting to get to him.

(And at that, I leave you all for the weekend to go on a camping trip. Feel free to auto pilot Kalen through  this critical and sensitive juncture if you need to move the game along. :p See you all Sunday Night or Monday Morning.)

The two men, obviously guards, walk over and sieze the bandit.
"Anything that makes our work easier is clearly good work. I expect you'll be rewarded in the morning."
The guards return to their table but you note that their hands only leave their swords when they sit down. Clearly they are still wary of your ragtag group of adventurers.

(Don't worry about it. I'm visiting family for the weekend so while I'll be watching the thread and resolving NPC interactions nothing significant should happen until Monday/Tuesday.

The party retires to their rooms for the night, payed in advance. Kalen finds Likkie curled up on the bed, clearly exhaused by some adventure of here own. Shirley also retires, leaving the guards to thier own devices. The night is quiet and all is well.

The various guests of the inn rise gradually, some get up quickly out of habit but others spend a few moments trying to remember where they are. From outside comes the sound of chatter and laughter, a welcome improvement for a village that had been set on edge by an abduction and a sudden introduction to non-human races. Today will bring two things, justice and money.

Isabelle gets up and stretches. She frowns when she looks outside.
"No doubt they'll stop that once I go out."

Shirley heads down to the common room, and eats a small breakfast.

Kalen rises early, with the intent of leaving the room before his daughter was up. It would be prudent to obtain some reward money, and buy her something interesting, before attempting to spend any time with Likkie; She was more than human enough to be put off by her father's foul personality at times, but material gifts were usually enough to overcome this for a spell.

The shadow elf heads back to the common room for breakfast, he figures that would be where the guards would seek him out for whatever reward they had in mind.

(I didn't think we were all sharing a room, but whatever)

"Just an offspring." Kalen answers, "nobody of consequence to you."
