I'd also like to use some of the stuff fro pyramid 3-66: The Laws of Magic, particularly the stuff for making limited RPM Magery.

Also also also, can I take Adjustable Spells (@Path Skill@) from pyramid 3-66 page 10? It would make my spells cost +1 energy per 10% in enhancements I add to spells using only paths I have the perk for, instead of +1 per 5%.
I don't have that issue but you can just send me the relevant rules and modifiers.

Also, does lowering my will and perception relative to my IQ count against my Disad Limit? Like if I have IQ 14 and Will 12, does that count as -10 points of disadvantages?
I'm going to say that it won't count against the limit as long as it stays above 10 (or the racial average).

Also, do you want to use the default RPM Lesser/Greater divide, or do you want to change it up a bit? One thing I might suggest is making obvious things like fireballs lesser effects, at least to a point.
You could use a fireball as a lesser effect if it had less range and you had a torch/lantern. We'll play a bit loose with those rules and see if you end up being over/underpowered.

Sweet. I'm almost done, I just need to figure out my equipment, my spell list, and my character's background skills. It's late right now though, so I'll get that in the morning.

Vorot put down the bandit and wield splitter and fell the nearest tree

Kalen, with a sigh and unsure of what the Ogre is up to, draws his crossbow and points it at the bandit while Vorot is busy. "No funny stuff."

Alright, here's a first draft of my character.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And here is my backstory and spell selection.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I still need to come up with three water based rituals, and to buy items other than that grimoire. For the rituals, I figured that she would actually have a hard time doing subtle things, and so the two elemental blessings are greater effects instead of lesser effects.

...Huh. I didn;t change name or gender. Apparently shirley can be a male name? Eh, I'll edit it appropriately.

Vorot walks to the edge of the clearing and hacks a sizable chunk out of a tree while Kalen, crossbow ready and loaded, keeps an eye on the bandit.

Isabelle pries the amulet from the corpse’s cold, dead fingers and, astoundingly, the corpse remains dead. The amulet is cold to the touch and it’s still too dark to make out the engraving.

"What in the blaizes are you doing, Ogre?" Kalen asks, "The one the Dark One let escape could be hiding somewhere pointing a crossbow at us. We cannot loiter here."

He remains in place. Preventing the prisoner from trying anything, and keeping an eye out on the situation.

Vorot fells the tree and drags the log back to the cave.

Isabelle stands in the dark, corpse-filled room.

So does my character look good? One of the perks on there is made up - Easy Ritual Space means that when using animprovised magic circle, I take no penalty, instead of -1. Also, can I use pre-cast rituals? That's basically a cross between a conditional ritual and a charm - it takes up a conditional slot, has no subject until cast, doesn't use an object (and thus can't be stolen or given away, except maybe through magic), and doesn't require a charm workshop (but doesn't get bonuses from a good one.)

These are basically to emulate the feeling of the old D&D Vancian Caster. Though my spells last until cast - which is a good thing, as they can take an hour or more to perpare - each!
