At some point you start to wonder if the phrase ”the world is going to hell” is meant in a very literal sense.

All that's left is for the guy in charge to break out the ol' fiddle and start playing.

Wisconsin getting in on the action.

Cops shot a dude because apparently stopping him before getting into his car is too difficult? Who knows.

Three cops followed him from the rear passenger side of his car, a big SUV, all the way round the front of the car, and when he opened the door shot him 7 times. His kids were in the car too.

I do not understand the mentality; if you are worried he has a weapon in the car, maybe stop him from getting into the car via non-lethal means like... restraining him physically, with handcuffs, perhaps.

I recall it rattling around that many of Wisconsin's police departments would refuse to enforce the Covid mask mandate. Kenosha is just south of Milwaukee and Milwaukee's PD has no shortage of atrocities on its record (Dahmer, anyone?), most recently prior being the child exploitation/citizen's arrests/house fire 'thing' that happened some two months ago; I'm still not sure what exactly happened there.

For those unaware, Dahmer was a molestor/murderer. One of his victims escaped, so the police brought the victim back to Dahmer.

And it's so much worse than you describe (as I'm sure you know).  The guy literally had bleeding head wounds and had suffered brain damage by the time he had escaped and made it to police.  Dahmer showed up and explained that it was just some kinky stuff, if I recall correctly, and the police on duty at the station were like "oh ok sounds good".

One of the officers responsible for that just retired this year, and the local department publicly bid him a fond farewell with all kinds of honors.

Also, it looks like he was shot for trying to stop a fight. If there's one thing cops hate, it's non-violence.

7 shots, they were definitely trying to take him out execution style, then they concoct their story and he's dead so can't tell his. Backfired.

He’s apparently stabile in hospital currently.

The Wisconsin governor came out effectively in support of Jacob Blake (the victim) and the Kenosha police union president is very unhappy with that, suggesting all the facts of the case should be known prior to passing judgment.

I mean, true, but also really now. I feel like 7 shots to the back in not justifiable under any circumstances.

My facebook is pretty right-wing - mostly because everyone I went to high school with became extremely religious and politically conservative, which is pretty usual for Wisconsin if you didn't live in one of the bigger cities. Whenever something happens in Wisconsin, it's a nightmare to see the people closest to it immediately start defending the police.

A frustrating quote that I need to share to vent:
"[Jacob Blake] had charges for child molestation. Americans officially hate cops more than pedophiles. #savethechildren"

Ignoring the Qanon hashtag, I'd guess a good portion of Wisconsin holds this idea - that cops can kill people if they're not a "good person" (oh and also black.)

Also, tech companies like Alphabet (Google and Youtube) and Facebook both exist partially to be right wing.

Sure, I'll believe that when I see a cop not get away with their crimes, or a poor pedophile go free after being proven guilty.

So, what you are delicately trying to say, is that Wisconsin is the cheesiest, as regards cheesy hick cliche's?

I'd like to know who came up with the molestation charge. There's always some charge attached to brutality victims, recorded or otherwise, and never you mind if there's any actual conviction or truth near it.

I assume this is related: https://twitter.com/snopes/status/1276250576850911234
