The whole 'black people use the N word, yet the N word is taboo when used by whites' thing has always come accross as not making a whole lot of sense because I'm like, 'if the word is bad, then why do you use it anyway?'

Also, since it's not policing related (though it does seem very much racially related), I'm not sure it actually goes here.

Judging from what I read it was two men and two women, but carry on.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the word Nigger itself, it is all about the intent behind using that word and since it is now commonly used as a derogatory term by non-blacks, i think black people has merit demanding other people stop using that word to describe them or refer to them, even though they could still use it among themselves and it would be perfectly fine and not one bit hypocritical.

Police are now scanning people's debit and credit cards with ERAD devices to see how much money they have, and whatever amount they discover is legally subject to civil asset forfeiture, the same as any other property they discover.

Due process doesn't mean due process anymore. To quote, it just means that there's a process that you do.

Good luck hacking my Bitcoin wallet, pigs.

They demand that you log into it, on the basis that it doesn't need a warrant because it's not actually your *password* that they want.

Good thing you never posted about it on the public internet using an account likely set to automatically log in or save username, with internet history to point them at your account. The first rule of actually-important opsec is to never talk about your actually-important opsec. :P

For now, it appears the ERAD devices are only able to siphon funds from pre-paid cards, and not from a driver's personal bank account or credit card.

Be a little more calm, so far it is only capable of siphoning off pre-paid Visa type cards, not actual bank transfers.

Quote
"[L]aw enforcement seized approximately 1,000 cards from a suspected drug trafficker. With this technology they were able to identify more than $48,000 in funds that were loaded onto the cards," said the release.

So ... each card had about $48 stolen from it. Considering that a typical one-use Visa gift card is like $50, it seems much more likely that they just stole 1000 regular $50 gift cards rather than siezed drug profits.
