Your loved one is trying to commit suicide or is being stupidly harmful to themself?
Who you gonna call? Definitely not the cops. Get good friends/neighbors instead.
Yeah. I had an old friend of my wife send the cops to our house because she couldnt get in touch with my wife...
She hadn't seen her in 10 years and had been trying to contact her (my wife was busy and not talking to a lot of people at that time,
the only reason I knew about this 'old friend' was she Facebook msged me out of the blue stating that she was sending the police to my house).
So they came banged on the door a bunch really loud and hard, trying to get in any doors they could find, then went around the house looking in and trying all our windows.
At which point I said okay babe, let's go out and talk to them so they don't do this again. -_-
When we come out the front door and the cop is strolling out of our back yard and through the driveway to get to his squad car, we stop and wait as he walks up to talk to us. We're wearing light PJ's with no real way to hide anything and are pretty calm all things considered...
We exchange a few words of greeting, he explains he's on a "wellness checkup" or some nonsense which translates to "someone told us they were worried about you so we had to come by".
We were like oh yeah that's because of so and so crazy people, no worries. Wife & I are standing calmly side-by-side, not moving, our hands clearly visible,
and he then blatantly unsnaps his gun holster right in my face. Just out of the blue.
It was only later when I was thinking to myself "wow, really?"
You trespass, probably damage my doors, and now you threaten me...
it's almost like he realized what he was doing was not right and was feeling a bit defensive or something!
Needless to say, I was rather upset with said 'old friend' and told her, among other things, that she was 'misguided' if she thought sending the police to help someone that she cared about was a good idea.
Anyone who has had to go through any bit of the "justice system" in the U.S. can tell you that... heck, even traffic violation court system is bad.
In all seriousness, your police have a problem. WHY nothing is being done about it is a mystery to me, given how widespread and how it seems an awful lot of people know about it. You'd think the politicians would realise it's generally a good idea to stop some policemen/women being lunatics.
Probably because those same politicians are making the laws that the police are the enforcers of? And let's not forget that government is just a puppet for the real powerblock; the ultra-rich via corps.
