I believe in you.
Most inspirational thing I've heard in the thread :P
This. Toady would probably be an awesome father.

Surprised that Toady didn't drop the hammer on anyone yet.

Must be the festive cheer

Also strangely enough the fact that some of his supporters killed two cops was not immediately used as a way to try and discredit his movement.

I can't remember any pro-Bundy people actually defending those two.

Missed this story back in 2011, but just noticed it getting shared around a bit today...

Ex-NYPD officer admits in court that police routinely plant evidence to make their jobs easier.

Police threaten to not do their jobs

Personally I feel good about them ignoring some of these things due to how enforcement tends to lopsidedly effect segments of the population more than others. I don't know enough about yearly enforcement rates to know if this is just a seasonal thing or NY police fighting back against accountability, though if it's the latter then they are incredibly.. incredibly.. tone deaf to public outcry. Or maybe they've officially decided that they're against the people they always claim to protect when justifying their actions.

No, children are capable of learning.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Of course. I'm not entirely sure city hall or whatever could curtail pay, even if they wanted to.

In before NY does just fine without the police.

Though then again, it is New York... Can they at least leave the traffic police active?

If I had to name a difference between present day white Americans and black Americans, it'd be that the former are being told to live their lives in fear of getting killed in a terrorist attack, while the latter are being told to live theirs in fear of getting killed by the police.   </sarcasm>

that didn't need the sarcasm tag. It is pretty spot on.

I imagine that the sarcasm lies somewhere in the general area of the fact that being killed in a terrorist attack is something with a negligable chance of happening regardless of race, and isn't something that anyone in the USA seriously needs to worry about, whereas being shot by a cop could conceivably happen if you're black.

You don't have to look back over a decade to find a noteworthy example of excessive force.

Meant to post this story yesterday. Luckily ran across it again and remembered.

yea I hope that works out, but I don't see much coming of it. It's the legal system potentially trying itself. Much like with the original Brown case.
