Minotaurs are basically just as easy to play and don't tend to evaporate at the slightest hint of elemental damage [srsly gargoyle health is so damn low].

Also Tegga you magnificent person keep doing the lord's work for the Champions!

AC works against most elemental damage and spells so I dont think Gargs are particularly weak against it, although if that elemental damage is something like an OOF yeah. Stuff that ignores AC destroys gargs, though.

Well, that sucked. Sonja abyss'd me at lvl 15, then I got banished in Abyss:1 down to Abyss:2, then I got banished again into Abyss:3, then I died two steps away from the rune.

The Abyss sucks.

It does. At least you got Abyss'd by something that can always abyss you, not a random distortion weapon.

Honestly, distortion weapons don't fit in with Crawl's philosophy at all. In the early-game, they're basically a random "HAHAHA YOU LOSE" event, which, if I remember correctly, is something Crawl is supposed to avoid. They're not so bad once you can actually survive the abyss, though.

Other than that, there's no limit to how many teams can be created. These were just the teams we fielded in the past tournaments, and I didn't expect to need more, so I didn't list another one.

Woo! I do hope the character I currently have going will gain points for the team, since he's done pretty well so far. I managed to kill Purgy at an early level by polymorphing him, and getting lucky with him becoming a spider that died with a couple Mystic Blasts, which gave a nice boost to my skills.

Arg! Got hit for 59 damage because I was stuck between a orb of fire and an invisible yellow draconian. I went after the orb, since it mutates you, but I think I should've gone for the draconian, because that bastard corroded my armor down to -12, which I'm convinced is what let him do so much damage.

I was almost within sight of the orb, and I'd already taken down 2 ancient liches... to be killed by a lowly draconian!
