So I'm sitting here on a MiFi and decide I'll be a bit wreckless, and start quaff-IDing my potions. I hit a potion of Mutation.

I gain another rank of Horns, the ability to breathe fire, and I lose a few points of Intelligence. I'm definitely not about to complain.

I've found a +9 PDA artefact (rN+ Dex+3). The ego is kind of lame, but +9 on such a great armor type is awesome. I've only seen PDA a couple times, and never have I seen an enchanted or artefact one. Looks like a winning game unless I screw up.

So i've got 3 runes and am clearing my way though the Depths, trying to decide if I should go for the hell runes, or just go for a 3 rune win.  I've got a ton of AC, and a buckler of reflection.  This is my first high level caster, so I'm not sure what spells are "must haves" for endgame.  Can my orb of destruction carry me through?  The only real weakness on this character is running out of mana.  I'm dumping some skills into evocations for my staff of energy, but i'm kinda wondering if I should pick up some skill in a melee weapon instead and become more of a hybrid caster.

Need advice :(  Minotaur Ice elementalist (going full melee) lvl 16  ZERO poison/cold/electricity resistance. Only amulet found is stasis

Cleared all Lair, Orc, Dungeon.  My branches are swamp and spider   which is safer?

If you get haste and staff of energy usable you could do extended if you like.

Need advice :(  Minotaur Ice elementalist (going full melee) lvl 16  ZERO poison/cold/electricity resistance. Only amulet found is stasis

Cleared all Lair, Orc, Dungeon.  My branches are swamp and spider   which is safer?

Most likely swamp, plus you can kill swamp dragons and get poison resistance from their hide at some point, I just did that in my game (my other branch was snake though). Unless you are using a cutting weapon hydras should not be too much of an issue and poison clouds are more manageable than big bad poisoning from spiders. Also they removed vapors, hated these things.

Plus as an IE I assume you went the EV route and spider is pretty hard for EV based characters.

I went armor, cleared it and got the rune (killed learnean hydra) still no poison res or electricty or clarity... Vaults I guess or depths before spider

Edit: just got poison and cold rings *whew*

bah, I lost my gargoyle wizard, the worst part is I had plenty of escape items I could have used, and neglected to put my corrosion amulet on before fighting the royal jelly.

I guess every death is a lesson.

I'm bit torn about joining, since I've been playing websocket for good while and don't get how to add #teamcapitain to the file as per instructions? Do I need the DL:d version? Otherwise, I'm Intermediate/Advanced player (no runes yet, but been playing somewhat regularily at least from 0.12) and have some good time to punch into Crawl.
