I'd be interested in playing this tournament. I have some wins under my belt, but they are from back when deep dwarves were first introduced, I just started playing again a few days ago.  Would probably be best on a mid-range team.

Not a problem - I've added you to the Expert/Advanced group (Blacksmiths). What's your crawl name? I put down Vactor, but a quick check through the tournament names didn't show anyone by that name, so I figured I'd check.

Sure. Unfortunately, the Champions and Blacksmiths are full, so you have a choice between the Intermediate/Beginner team (Miners) or the Late Registrants team (Nobles). If you pick Nobles it'd probably be best if you were the captain, but that's almost purely administrative stuff you can do once, update maybe once or twice, then forget about (and I can walk you through it).

If you want to join the Champions, I'm willing to join Nobles instead, since I'm definitely on the lower end of the spectrum of expert, as far as skill goes.

Yep. I wouldn't recommend waiting until absolute last-minute to change teams, though - simply because joining a team requires the Team captain to makes changes as well, and the captain might not see it in time. Dropping a team can be done whenever, though. All you need to do to drop a team is remove the #TEAMCAPTAIN line from your rc file.

Then you're welcome to swap with flameboy as well. I'll just make the updates once everything's decided.

It's all right, I don't belong in the champion team. That said, feel free to join the Nobles! if you feel like that would be a better fit for you (and also so that I don't have to be in a team by myself D:)

Ok, I've moved you over to the Nobles. To captain the team, place these two lines at the very top of your rc file.

Caveat: If you're considering swapping teams, it might be worth it to hold off on adding these lines until you know for sure what you're going to do. If the team captain drops his team, the entire team disintegrates (obviously not a problem if you're the only person on the team - can be a big problem if there are others, as everyone needs to update their rc files). So go ahead and wait until you know for sure if you'll swap teams or not. If/when someone else joins the Nobles, they can captain as well, if you're still not sure at that point.
