The Queen is part of my first 7
« on: August 23, 2014, 02:40:41 am »

Fresh embark and I apparently choose a very low pop. civ.

After the first season, one of them was promoted to queen.

Now to scramble to provide the royal quarters.  :(

Platinum block floors worked well for me. ;)

Not sure it has to really be a low pop civ, as much as having a King/Queen that dies without anyone to inherit the title (and some luck in choosing one of yours), right?

In theory, yes. In practice the lower the civ pop the greater the chance that one of your 7 will be in direct line to inherit.

I checked legends and there are 61 dwarves left in the civilization.  There are 43018 dwarves overall.

There was no 'announcement' so I didn't notice until she went well below the average happiness of the fort.

Didn't Toady add an announcement?  What version are you running?
