No migrants?

I started a new fort on a new world, but I haven't had a single migrant show up. The two "hardcoded" waves even failed to arrive (though I think this is probably because of the siege that was going on at the time.) Dwarves didn't go extinct in worldgen--the caravan for them arrives every year.

Due to fighting off the siege, I am now down to two dwarves who are so frantically trying to run everything on their own that  I have yet to successfully get them into the trade depot to trade.

I'm on year five now, and still no migrants. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'd like to suggest a forum search, there is a thread like this on every page.

You carried over old init files and are missing [STRICT_POPULATION_CAP:220] which defaults it to 0. Its fixed in the next version, but just add that line now.

Check d_init for [STRICT_POPULATION_CAP:220]. If it is missing, I don't think you get any dwarves.

I didn't carry over anything seeing as how this is a fresh download, and my other fortress created today got migrants fine with the exact same init file. ((I did check the init file, and that line is present.))

Oh, so far it always was that, apologies for the snarkiness then. Are you on and island or something unreachable? No clue really

I don't think you get migrants in a siege. I suppose the migrants could be killed on the way to your fort also.
