Something about this feels a bit disturbing:

That baby got hurt by coins that passed right through his body.  Or was already hurt.  If coins are flying through the air chances are somebody already got hurt.

Coins don't actually damage, was the baby already hurt?

Coins are too small to be 1 urist, so they have no mass at all.

No, the baby wasn't hurt and in fact wasn't hurt by the incident. He did get knocked out, but regained consciousness pretty quickly.

If the trick was, that a coin passed through my head, I think I'd pass out too.  ;)

Known bug.

Well, it's a known bug that it would pass through, it's the unconsciousness that's weird.

The coins didn't bash his skull in, jamming the skull through the brain. Clearly a bug by Dwarf Fortress's standards.

Toady mentioned at some point that unconsciousness was tweaked so that it could happen with less severe head trauma now.  I'd guess it's related to that, although it's probably a bug anyway since I doubt doing no damage should trigger it.

I think I saw that happen in X-Men First Class.

Neutrino coin strikes again.

The coins didn't bash his skull in, jamming the skull through the brain. Clearly a bug by Dwarf Fortress's standards.
Considering the mental capacity of the average dwarf, it could be a feature.

You should only be concerned if this DOESN'T happen.  Items with zero mass have no possibility other than to pass through.

If the baby's head does stop massless objects, then you should start getting concerned, because you may have some sort of transdimensional alien spy merely posing as a baby. That, or a dwarven baby is just the next incarnation of the Doctor.

Dwarf fortress in 50 words: You start with seven alcoholic, manic-depressive dwarves. You build a fortress in the wilderness where EVERYTHING tries to kill you, including your own dwarves. Usually, your chief imports are immigrants, beer, and optimism. Your chief exports are misery, limestone violins, forest fires, elf tallow soap, and carved kitten bone.
