We don't want to destroy spawners, because we can turn them into lucrative mob farms.

Lucrative is a bit of an exaggeration, string is fairly cheap.

Still, smashing mob spawners is wasteful and cannot be undone.

It also lets you get lots of potion ingredients, so string isn't the only benefit.

Note that the ideal spider spawner farm is multiple spawners within render distance. I have no idea how to set such a thing up, but I have been told how effective it can be.
Edit: I'm coming back to the fort. I'll throw another D pick into the tool chest of the storeroom.
Edit:There's going to be a test over on civtest before we update to 1.7.10, the test will involve a bunch of defenders in a stronghold dug out of civcraft 1.0's folder, the defenders will get the new "expensive beacons" and I would assume bastions, the attackers meanwhile will be at significant disadvantage however will be in greater number.
Is anyone interested in taking part? I'm not sure I can get access during the event due to work however.

I'm not entirely sure It's either saturday or next saturday......
Edit: Minimal rail tunnel to laketown is done, I'm rearranging the power rails to the optimum 38 spaces, then I'll be expanding the tunnel a little so It looks better, leftover power rails will go towards the ramp(we might just have enough). Then I'll add a splash shaft and railevator.
Edit: Oh I found a crapton of coal and redstone in caves nearby, also a little lapis, quartz and a single vanilla duamond chunk under the rail.
Edit: Rail is now connected and powered. Theres still 2 stacks of power rails and a couple of stacks of normal rails left, I'm starting on a line to join us to the Titan-neverwhere line now.
Edit: I've thrown my damaged Efficiency I D pick into the tool chest, It would be better if it was just used for obsidian, but use it for whatever :P

We've finished the lower part of the cone. At this point, we should think about what we can move in. Work on the top half has started, but we'll be able to use less of it (only up to y = 80-85 in the best directions, I think). We'll also need to do a bit of terraforming up top to make a better mountain.

Once the circumference canal is finished, there should be room canalside for housing, though the test canal needs to be filled in (A good use of some of that nearby cobble pile! ;))

I got a look at the cone yesterday, it's great.
What is it going to be clad in, or how will the walls be decorated?
