Machine room looks alright, but can we make it 5 blocks lower? This would make it mesh easier with the tiers of the city, assuming we made each sub-level (levels below middle/where canals are) 6 blocks (5 blocks + floor)

Is no one ever online when I join the server, or are people just not responding? I haven't seen any of you guys in days.
I can't come on until my Internet stops buggering about. It's been running unbearably slowly lately. Ly.
I even have to go down to the local library to download stuff sometimes.

I only usually pop on for significant periods 2 days a week, otherwise my timezone is rather funky.
GMT +10, I might be around an hour before 10am, an hour-2 after  2:30 and a few hours after 10pm.
How big is the factory room? also how far is it from the temp stockpile? I was going to start IRO encasing the old stockpile but perhaps one could be placed near or in the factory room for more valuable items, or perhaps just a new bigger one could be placed nearby?
The old one could be retasked for food/wood/cobble/whatever.

Yeah, temp stockpile is in a terrible location for safety. I believe that what's intended to be the factory room is that ring-shaped chamber dug out at Y 18 just outside the designated walls of the main chamber.

EDIT: How wide is the cone at its central Y level? By my measure it's 58 across, but mineconics shows a different circle plan for that diameter.

So... are we building the factories yet? Or waiting for someone to move the room down a bit?

The central level is 60 across.

Sure, although moving it up by one block would work too.

The middle section (Y 61-62) Goes from X 14365 to 14423, which is 58(?) across. And mineconics is giving a different circle pattern for both 58 and 60 than we have.

It's 59 across with a radius of 30.

*Facepalm* mistaking radius for diameter on mineconics. Sorry.

At least I know what to do now.

Screwing around in creative, designed a water elevator/fountain combo.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I don't quite like how the stairs turned out, something a bit more spirally might look better, also I think I might replace the glass outer quarters with garden.
I'll plop this down at the main entrance rail line, however I couldn't get minecart upwards teleport to work on creative, maybe It got patched? I briefly ran that world on the newest snapshot in order to get a flying machine running...

Looks great! But don't the rails already come up to the surface?

Oh I'm building this at the other end of the station, at the forest near neverwhere.
Mostly to save power rails or whatever.
I'll need an assload of glass though.
Rdit: Once I have the area marked out I'll just make the water elevator and connect the rails, the details can wait till I have access to glass and time to dig the damn thing out.

Alright, excavation of the main chamber is now intersecting the generated mineshaft. May need help now, especially harvesting the cobwebs without breaking them.

Just got home, will help.

EDIT: last call for any discussion re: the factory room, if there is none, I'll just go ahead and build some factories.

I say just go ahead. We can always renovate later; just make sure that the factories are in good spots.
