Okay, full disclosure here, I may have gone a touch insane building secret passageways around the fort, by now, there is literally no public area in the fort that does not have a secret entrance within a couple minutes walk/run, so just scream at me in PMs or just tell me to post where they are here if you want to know where they are.

Will probably stumble across them while digging out the rest of Cavernbrook/whatever we're calling it now.

Will be sure to look into this a bit more once I'm home, and lend a hand in getting the factories running.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

Can I borrow a ST for a few days? I'll donate 25% to the fort.

I would like to get to work in my desert, so I shouldn't need my ST for a while, I'll leave it in storage later today.
Edit: I've been doing some random work around the place, rearranging flagstones, I moved the ladder to building near the rail station so it it's not in the way as much, I straightened the path to the guardsdorf barracks too.
And I've made a simple obsidian generator, it's currently on the mountain past the tunnel to the rail station drop shaft, however I'm going to remake it reinforced inside the factory room somewhere, then I'll work on an enhanced version, I believe I can make a 2 person generator that would allow someone to afk swinging a pick at the 4 blocks that will spawn, while another person places the string and operates the button, it should be something like 3 times as fast and vastly easier.
Edit: The Obbytron 1000 has successfully been installed into the factory room, it's primarily made of stone reinforced obsidian to prevent destroying it whilst mining, however that does make visibility of the produced obsidian rather difficult, I may swap stone reinforced obsidian for iron reinforced furnaces. Next up I must make a string generator, who knows where we have some spider spawners?
Edit: Found a pair of pigs nearby, I've lured them to the fort and locked them up near ol general Morul.
I'm going to encase the storeroom in IRO, I'm about 6 stacks of obsidian short, and only have 3 stacks of string, however I should be able to find a spider spawner rather easily.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Well, I finally decided to come visit. Along the way of my walking I found a dirt and gravel griefed tower that has been eroded beyond any hope of rebuilding. At the top, in a few chests. I found a bunch of food, some wood, wool, and minecarts, some .1 diamond currency papers, and a horse egg(!). I'm currently walking towards sparkgear, hope to see you there.

Making some passages to get the cavalry able to move around the mountains easier would probably be helpful, if we are going to be having Cavalry.

I need about 352 iron and obsidian to reinforce the storeroom walls, If I burn the remaining 3 stacks of string I'll still be about 2 stacks short, I'm going to look for a spider spawner now.

This would be a new storeroom, further in and closer to the factories, right?

No It's still the old one, I can tear it down if we've decided where to put the new one.
I've discovered at least 3 spider spawners under the arena, one has been secured......

We might want to call the horses ponies. I don't know any dwarf that could ride a horse.  :P

But that's so un-badass! All it takes for a dwarf to ride anything is a sufficiently engineered saddle.
